Car Hire at Belfast Lanyon Place Train Station - Discovering Northern Ireland

Formerly known as Belfast Central, Belfast Lanyon Place Train Station is one of the biggest railway hubs in Northern Ireland. It is one of the four main railway stations operating in and around Belfast's city centre, along with City Hospital, Great Victoria Street and Botanic. The station is served by regular cross-border inter-city trains operated by Enterprise and Northern Ireland Railways with direct routes to many key destinations, including Dublin and Derry.

Opened in 1976, Belfast Lanyon Place Train Station underwent a facelift in 2003 and fifteen years later the iconic façade of the building and entrance hall were fully redesigned and fitted with many new facilities. It was also at this time that its name was changed from Belfast Central to Lanyon Place on the 1st of September 2018 to reflect the station's status as a major hub of one of the city's upcoming commercial districts.

Modernday Belfast is a thriving tourist city with dozens of top-notch attractions, many of which are easily accessible from Lanyon Place Train Station. For instance, visitors can take a train headed for Bangor and alight at the Titanic Quarter station, after which it’s a 15-minute walk to the world-famous Titanic Museum to see the place where the ill-fated ocean liner was built over a hundred years ago.

Belfast has much to offer today's tourists, having recently emerged from a long period of political unrest. Arguably the city's most popular attraction after the Titanic Museum, the excellent Ulster Museum has many rare exhibits, including meteorites, Egyptian mummies and some of the world's best-preserved dinosaur skeletons. With a car hire from Belfast Lanyon Place Train Station you'll also be able to visit Giant’s Causeway on a very pleasant day-trip from the city.
