Station Information

Officially inugurated on the 29th of April 1865, Brindisi Train Station (Stazione di Brindisi in Italian) has a rich history serving both the local residents and (more recently) large numbers of visitors holidaying in the region and/or embarking on ferries at the nearby port district. The station has eight busy tracks mostly used by Trenitalia (Italian Railways), along with a direct link to Brindisi Marittima Train Station, which in the past was connected by ship to mainland Greece. Today it still ranks as the main railway station serving Brindisi, which lies in the heart of an area renowned for its spectacular scenery, fine dining and many cultural treasures.

Station facilities

Located in the city centre, Brindisi Train Station offers its many passengers a wide range of on-site facilities and amenities, most of which you would expect to find in a European railway hub. There are places to eat or grab a snack, as well as a choice of bars and cafés for refreshments whilst waiting for your train to depart. Other facilities services include toilets, lockers, departures and arrivals boards, luggage trolleys, waiting rooms, taxi rank outside and a car park nearby. Electronic machines are also available for purchasing tickets, which need to be stamped in one of the yellow machines found on the station's platforms and in the main hall. This is important because heavy fines are issued to passengers caught with an unstamped ticket. How to get to and from Brindisi Train station

Charged from Monday to Saturday (free on Sundays), Brindisi has plenty of on-street parking spaces, many in the city centre. One good option for people who decide to rent a car at Brindisi Train Station but first plan a sightseeing itinerary is the large, well-organised car park located adjacent to the ferry terminal, which is excellent for visiting the top tourist attractions. Bear in mind that the historic centre is now a low-emissions zone (ZTL) which means that only authorised permit holders are allowed to enter large parts of the inner city, including streets in and around Via Regina Margherita and Sciabich. Brindisi Airport has ample parking for both short- and long-stays.
