Car hire at Exeter Airport - Touring South-west England

Exeter Airport (formerly Exeter International Airport) is an airport serving the city of Exeter in the county of Devon, south-west England. Currently managed by Regional and City Airports Ltd, it hosts a number of aviation organisations and private aircraft operators, such as Exeter Flying Club, Airways Flight Training, Aviation South West, Capital Aviation and Hunter Flying Club.

The vast majority of traffic at Exeter Airport (EXT) is seasonal, with most passengers flying to some of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe and North Africa in the warm summer months. Located just 5 miles (a 10-minute drive) from the centre of Exeter, it is a very convenient base from which to explore one of the most scenic and historically interesting parts of the United Kingdom.

Blessed with excellent road, rail and air links, Exeter is an easy city to reach from all parts of the UK. And the fact that it is full of first-class attractions and actitivies means that it's the ideal destination for short-breaks and summer holidays for couples and families alike. Most first-time visitors start at the cathedral in the city centre, which is famous for its minstrels' gallery, organ and astronomical clock. It also features the longest stretch of unbroken Gothic vaulting in the world.

Another of Exeter's must-see attractions is the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM), a stunning cultural centre full of great exhibitions and completely free of charge! Before dinner, make sure you take a leisurely stroll through the old quarter to city's historic quayside, an interesting ten-minute walk from the cathedral. This is the best place in Exeter to dine, shop and enjoy the tranquillity of the River Exe, on which regular cruises can be enjoyed.

With a car hire from Exeter Airport you'll have all the freedom and flexibility you'll need to explore Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, arguably one of the most scenic parts of the country. After all the fun of discovering the city with all its cultural attractions, you'll also be able to jump in the car and drive over the Jurassic Coast (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) before relaxing on the pristine beaches of the world-famous English Riviera close by. Other day-trip options include a visit to the nearby cities of Bath and Bristol, while London is also reachable from Exeter (preferably with an overnight stay) perhaps stopping at Stonehenge en route.
