    Where to pick up my car hire in Nice Airport

    Hiring a car directly at the airport is an excellent way to get your holiday off to a good start. Suppliers' desks are conveniently situated at both terminals. In Terminal 1, you will find them near gates A1 and A2, on the right from the information office. In Terminal 2, the desks are located between gates A2 and A3. There is also a zone for car rental behind the car park P5 at Terminal 2, where you can pick up and drop off your vehicle. Most of the desks are open until 10pm. However, inform yourself of the opening times prior to each pick-up, especially before rentals commencing or finishing at weekends.     Terminals

    Nice International Airport is the third-largest in France, just after the two airports in Paris. The airport in Nice consists of two terminals connected with a shuttle bus, courtesy of the airport. The free shuttle operates from 4.30 until midnight and stops at 10 different stops along the way. These are airport bus stops, car hire buildings and car parks. Terminal 1 houses international flights, while Terminal 2 is intended for domestic and European flights. Terminal 1 caters for business travellers who will have a business centre at their disposal, offering copying and faxing services as well as internet access. The meeting facilities consist of eight meeting rooms and one large conference space that hosts up to 250 people. Terminal 2 is slightly bigger and sees around 9 million passengers per year.     How to get to and from Nice airport

    The International Airport of Nice is situated only 5 miles from the city centre. Take your car hire onto a short, but lovely ride from the airport to Boulevard René Cassin. Take Voie Pierre Mathis all the way to downtown Nice. For a more scenic ride, drive along Promenade des Anglais and turn left into one of the side streets connecting it with the city centre.

    The airport is well connected with a whole range of neighbouring destinations by bus and rail service. Tickets for both can be purchased at ticket offices at the airport. In Terminal 1, head out through the doors A0, and you will find bus stops on your left side. In Terminal 2, you will need to exit the main building using the exit A3 and follow the signs to the bus stop right across the road. Bus service is regular, and you will reach the city centre in approximately 30-40 minutes by bus. The Nice Saint-Augustin railway station is situated about 10 minutes away from Terminal 1. When you exit at the arrivals (Gate 1), cross the pedestrian way under the Promenade des Anglais bridge. Cross Lindbergh Avenue and turn left. Turn left to the traffic light, cross to the left under the SNCF railway bridge and turn right towards Avenue Edouard Grinda. If you want to arrive in one of the nearby destinations in high style, you may opt for a helicopter transfer to Cannes or Monaco.

    Parking Tips

    The International Airport in Nice has ten car parks. Some of them offer short-term parking, some are ideal for meeting and greeting, that is, for quick pick-up and drop-off of passengers. In Terminal 1, there is also a motorcycle parking lot. In the city of Nice, there are about 19 000 parking spaces, and some of them are free for the first 60 minutes. On-street parking in Nice is subject to fees, and the maximum duration is only two hours. It is quite difficult to find a free slot in the street. Unlimited and safe parking for your rental car, on the other hand, is available in the city's many car parks located downtown or spread across the city.
