" I am very displeased with my experience with this rental and I expect Auto Europe to deal with my complaint which neither your reservations team has done yet (request#4344206) or your customer service team (request #4358249, where I've been told your response time will be 6-8 weeks). Just to sum up the issue, I arrived at 10.30pm at the desk to pick up the car but Flex to Go said they could not accept my credit card as they had a policy requiring six month of validity following the return of the car (my card was still valid for 100 days but they needed 180). My other cards were an AMex (which they don't accept) and a debit card (which they would take either). I proposed adding my wife as a driver and using her VISA but they said the original booking was in my name so they couldn't do this either. In the end I was only offered the possibility of paying €320 to get their Insurance Plus product as well as pre-paying the fuel of the car (an additional €50). I called Auto Europe on the spot but was offered no solution other than calling customer service the following day. With 2 young children at 11pm in Hahn airport and 40 miles away from my airbnb, I was left with no choice but to pay this amount to be able to get the car. This credit card policy is completely non-standard and was not flagged by Auto Europe to me when I did the booking. I believe Auto Europe should not be offering a company with this non-standard policy at all or at least have this properly informed to clients. Therefore I would like Auto Europe to refund me for this amount. "

Was supposed to collect car from Frankfurt airport Terminal 2, and chaos in the airport on that day meant that it took an hour to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, only to find the Wheego desk empty and a sign instructing me to go and look for someone back in Terminal 1. The car itself looked OK, but when drove away I thought the gearbox felt heavy, but assumed it was a characteristic of the car. Part way into the journey the gear box began to jam - it was not possible to change gear without stopping the car, deliberately stalling it and pumping the clutch. Contacted Wheego and agreed that I would cut short my trip and attempt to get the car back to the airport a day earlier than intended, then book into a hotel for the last night. I did that, got back with great difficulty and many stops. On the way back, an oil light came on as well (an unrelated problem). Wheego has not apologised or offered any refund. "

On return I am always nervous as you hear so many horror stories from people being charged for damage they didn't do, but I had no problems at all. The staff on return were very efficient and I was on my way in no time, I have returned rental cars before where they are going round the car with torches and everything looking for something to bill you for but not here, they check the fuel and take a quick look at it and if you haven't damaged the car you are good to go. " I have rented from Enterprise in the UK and abroad for many years and I have always been very happy until this rental. The car itself was excellent, but that was all. I made my booking using Auto Europe as it was cheaper, gave better choice of cars (?!) and a low-cost upgrade. I have my own excess cover, but it does not cover breakdown, so I checked and Auto Europe confirmed that breakdown assistance and recovery was included. I also gave our flight details for arrival at Frankfurt Airport, Terminal 2. I was travelling with my 92-year-old father who has limited mobility. On arrival, the special assistance team provided a wheelchair and took us to the Enterprise Office at Terminal 2, only to find it was closed. Instead we had to take a difficult bus journey to Terminal 1. Thankfully special assistance was able to stay with us, so we made it. At the Enterprise desk, I was told breakdown cover was chargeable. I have never had this before with Enterprise and I had selected them over two cheaper options because of this. When I pointed this out, I was not charged for breakdown cover, but I have no idea if we were covered. In addition, I was not informed about the condition of the vehicle and it was NOT personally handed over to us. Later I realised we had not been given any return information and I couldn't find it in the documentation. I made several attempts to contact Enterprise at Frankfurt Airport and despite being told by call centre they would call me back, they never did. Eventually I emailed Auto Europe and they quickly called me back. They put me through to the Enterprise office in Frankfurt city who told me where and how to drop off the car on return to terminal 2. Overall this was a very frustrating and incomplete car hire service from Enterprise at Frankfurt Airport, only offset by the high quality and good condition of the vehicle provided, and the excellent service from Auto Europe. Extremely disappointing. "

The reason for choosing that option was based on renting the T-roc suv as it was the best price and big enough. Alamo only provide T-cross which is a size category below. " Upon arrival at the SIXT office there was a long queue. It soon became evident that SIXT had no cars. I waited 1 hour to be served. SIXT could not explain why they'd sold my reservation to another customer. The SIXT representative tried to sell me an upgrade: Euro 250 extra a day for a Maserati! I noticed that SIXT appeared to have lots of premium vehicles which they were holding back or trying to sell. Not good. Unprofessional and greedy. Because of the delay, my car was dirty and I didn't arrive to my hotel until after midnight. Very very unhappy. "

" We had a really annoying experience. Auto Europe need to take some ownership of the gap between buying a voucher and the local car hire office not really caring about the Auto Europe customer. It should not be possible to book a car at 11pm if the office isn't open! I've been extremely loyal to Auto Europe for almost 20 years now when travelling across Europe, US, South America and Australia. I've had the odd issue but never something as basic as this. I'm certainly considering other options and will not recommend Auto Europe at all until I hear something credible back from you! My main point is I had my 11yo son in tears and extremely tired and frustrated. If you had a baby with you or were disabled it would've been even worse. You should follow this up because it's such a basic process fail and should never ever happen to your customers. Thank you! "
" The booking was for 11pm. The flight details were on the booking. Apparently the usual practice is for the Terminal 2 Office to shut at 7pm and a message is on the door to go to the other terminal. Our plane was 10mins late and we got the Terminal 1 office at 11.15pm. Next door (Sixt) told us that National had closed at 10:45pm. We had to book an expensive hotel and sort out transport to it which wasn't easy. We had ski kit and airport taxis wouldn't take us because they were e class mercedes that couldn't take a 190cm ski bag. Public transport was available but no one was around to explain how to use it. We talked to cleaners and randon travellers but it still took us almost 2 hours to get to the hotel, eventually we got an uber from a tube station because although we'd got the right tube line it was the wrong direction. The next day I explained this to Salome Gloux from National who as polite and apologetic. We were given a free upgrade and no charge for going into Austria which was helpful. However the hotel cost 133 euros and we eventually left the airport in a car about 11 hours later than expected, which is basically half a day of our holiday. I don't understand why National shut the office knowing we had a booking for 11pm. If they had attempted to call me I had my phone on as we landed around 10pm local time. Really poor service, it can't be that hard to notice that one of the bookings hasn't turned up. If they looked up the flight they would've seen it was 10mins late and landed in the other terminal so would take 20mins to get over to their office. Also other car hire offices were there and open! "

" I had to cancel my car hire at short notice due to Covid restrictions imposed by the German government less than 48 hours before the flight. Despite my contacting Auto Europe repeatedly and speaking at length to various representatives Auto Europe refused to give me any money back and insisted I was entitled to nothing. Not only this they have misrepresented me to my credit card company claiming that they had no record of me contacting them. Also indicating that I was a no-show none of which is true as I contacted both Auto Europe and the actual car hire company in advance of my trip notifying them of the cancellation due to Covid restrictions. I have used this company for many years and I'm severely disappointed. "

Called the company to ask whats going on and was told by the operator that there is nothing she could do. I insisted I needed my car so the person reluctantly let me in and processed my booking with lots of bad attitude and borderline rude. But adBlue is not commonly used in some countries like in Thailand so it was our new experience to know and to use it. I bought a canister when the car console showed engine stop in 600 Kms if not fill in the adBlue. But not sure whether the right product so I drove to Hertz Dresden Airport to help. I was satisfied with the service. Should let customers know this adBlue before taking the car and who will be responsible for the cost. My case I paid for 15Euros for a canister. "

" Firstly we had real issues finding the collection point for the car ad Frankfurt airport is massive. However after 25 minutes of walking with all our luggage, we came across what we thought was the collection point, it was in fact Terminal 1 pickup. The operator on the desk was less than helpful with our current situation. We were a party of 5, one of them was a 15 month old. He suggested I did the paperwork with him then go across to terminal 2 to collect the vehicle, transit time & collection would be 2+ hours. The car being offered (A Ford Courier Kombi) was not the one we requested (A Ford Mondeo Estate), when I questioned this, I was told this was an upgrade, so basically think yourself lucky. I explained we has a ton of luggage which was why we requested and estate car, 'Well we have none' was his reply. However we do have a Ford Edge at Terminal 1, if you want that for €50/day extra, it will also save you the extended time to go across to terminal 2. His attitude and business ethics were questionable at best, he gave us no alternative but to accept the Ford Edge and kept quoting how difficult it would be to get any cars from other dealers as it was late in the day. In the end, in the interests of everyone's sanity I was left no alternative but to pay the extra for the Ford Edge. An issue I will be taking up with Santander. "

I really don't understand why this had to be a single transaction and it was really inconvenient as I don't use my credit card normally. Finally, I booked a group A car and was given group C. I feel this is a money racked and no doubt many customers will be charged for this damage as who ever had check the car before me had NOT recorded this damage. " The drop off in Munich was a nightmare, there were no signs to the drop off depot & when I eventually got there the staff were very unhelpful. The man did not explain the check-in procedure at all, I found it a very confusing & upsetting process. I had filled up with petrol on the way into Munich but due to getting lost had obviously used a little fuel & the check-in man just kept saying that the fuel was not full, he didn't say whether he wanted me to go & fill it up or whether I had to pay an excess. I wrote on the contract that I was disputing it and left (so I am now waiting on the outcome). Buchbinder tried to sell me a full tank refill despite me telling them i would drive less than 2 hours.
