    Parking Tips

When you rent a car at Frankfurt Hahn Airport and drive to the city, the first thing to take into consideration is that a Low Emission Zone (Umweltzone) exists in the city centre, for which you'll require a sticker to enter. Please note that the areas inside the A5, A3 and A61 motorways are also Low Emission Zones. Generally speaking, free parking is not an option in the downtown areas of Frankfurt and parking downtown during the daytime can be prohibitively expensive. Nevertheless, on- street spaces do sometimes become available but you will need to pay at any tme of the day or night. When driving around looking for a space, please note that the no parking sign is a blue circle with a red line through it and the normal parking sign is a blue square with a large P. The city has many large car parks, some of which are in close proximity to some of Frankfurt's top tourist attractions. These include Parkhaus Alte Oper (Opernplatz 1), Parkhaus Hotel Hilton (Hochstrasse 4), Börse (Meisengasse), Parkhaus Schiller-Passage (Taubenstraße 11), Parhaus Karstadt (Brönnerstraße 6), PH Konrad Adenauer (Konrad-Adenauer-Str.15) and Parkaus Konstabler ( Töngesgasse 8). Perhaps the best option for you will be the city's popular Park+Ride (P+R) car parks which provide a safer, more affordable alternative to street parking. Many of these are located on the outskirts of the city and connect with Frankfurt's efficient public transport system.
