I was not given clear instructions on the location of the alternative car park. A hard copy map would have been useful. So I parked in the adjacent airport car park. I have subsequently been charged nearly £15 for this. I have appealed but don't hold out much hope. They could have done better on this. This is not the case, several staff stood around seemingly doing nothing hence the que. When you sign the documentation they point out any marks on the car but never actually send you the pictures of any damage on the car and this is not a one off it was the same when we hired a car last year although they did send them towards the end of our holiday "

" On returning the vehicle we took our own pictures and then received an assessment email saying that grass on the carpets was classed as damage. I note £60 was taken from my card. Then were it fitted mats in the car to allow any grass etc to be removed. I will try to claim the £60 back but have no confidence i will succeed. "

" When we arrived at Limoges airport we found Thrifty at the Hertz desk and only one lady was working. There was a queue of over 8 different people waiting for their cars from our flight. As we checked in the lady told us what our car was, and said, 'Oh I can't remember the colour', was dismissive and rude. We had requested a car seat for our four month old baby in which she threw over the counter. When then trying to install the car seat, it was actually broken. The handle did not move and there was no support or inserts. We went back to ask for another and tell her and her response was, 'Oh I don't use these'. This is completely unprofessional and even if she had not personally used them, the company needs to ensure that the carseats are safe, let alone legal, if they are offering them to be hired out. She gave us her other 'option', and this again was broken and in even worse condition. Luckily, a lovely lady who worked at Enterprise over heard all of this and offered us her carseat. On returning of the vehicle and car seat, the same lady was working and we reiterated again about ensuring the carseats were safe/usable and she just brushed the comment off and said, 'I don't know really'. We found the whole personal experience with Thrifty highly infuriating, rude, dismissive and unprofessional. The car itself was in good condition but purely because of the service and experience we received, we would not book again. I would like this complaint to be looked into and feedback provided, as as you can see we are highly dissatisfied. "

" My only real concern was when Ryanair altered the time of my flight weeks after I'd booked the car hire. I went onto the AE website to amend the booking but it wouldn't let me. So I rang the helpdesk, who said they couldn't do it either because "there were no more cars available". This didn't make a lot of sense because I had already booked a car. All I wanted to do was move the collection and return times by 2.5 hours. I was told that I would have to re-hire a car at the current rates, which would no doubt have been more expensive than an earlier booking. In any case, there were no longer any cars available! In the end I retained the original booking and collected the car late. But I had to return it at the original time which meant a very long wait before my flight. Not impressed - why couldn't I just amend the booking? "

" I'll provide two elements of feedback. First part - . On dropping off the car, using an out of office hours key drop, I received very quick email to say the car had been received and all was good - no excess charge. This was brilliant. Second Part, which I have fed back to Enterprise: I booked the car in English needing no translation, but the document I was asked to sign at the airport was in French, my French is quite limited, so I really had to sign blindly. (I could have sworn that I have been given English contracts to sign in the past - I visit once every other year to catch up with family.) I would understand receiving the documentation in French, if I had had to book and pay for the hire in French to begin with. Please offer an English version in future, or at least warn on the English booking site that the contract you will be asked to sign will be in French. In the old contracts, I was given pictoral/car drawings with marks on the drawings to show where damage is located, under the new written email French contract there is nothing like this - an image is fairly language independent - please add this to the email contract. When I asked about the existing damage as I was a little confused, the assistant showed me photographs of the damage on a tablet - please add these to the contract email, these also help to understand where the damage is. I think the assistant told me to return the car full, (I'm pretty sure she did) but on driving the car I found it was only half full. (The display was quite dark and it only showed as not being full when it dropped below half full.) This really worried me, given the cost of fuel at the moment. I ended up calling the airport office to clarify, as the mileage was also wrong - after many failed attempts, due to the very narrow window of time the office is open and getting "press the huit key when I tried contacting the local office, even though pressing huit/8 was never offered, for the local support and made no difference.) Anyway, the person I spoke to explained that I only had to return it half full and when I struggled through the French contract, I could see "1/2 carbarant", which I guess means half tank of fuel. I wasn't given any instructions on leaving the car park - the barrier didn't open, I was given the car in the main car park and ended up using a ticket left in the car - I had to pay to leave the carpark! (Why wasn't I left the car in the car rental carpark, or why wasn't I given a ticket that would result in needing not to pay to leave the carpark?) I wasn't given any instructions for returning the car, this worried me because over the last ten years I have had to return the hire cars to various locations - the lower car included. We fortunately picked the right place, but it wasn't clear, we just guessed. "

" On Monday 6th. July 2020 I collected a booked Peugeot 206 rental car from Hertz, Limoges, France. When motoring on the A20 autoroute to my destination 60 kms away in 19400 Uzerche, it became apparent that the vehicle was unsafe to drive due to an intermittent problem with the power-steering. Upon arrival in Uzerche, after interminable phone delays, I managed to contact Hertz Assistance and the vehicle was recovered by a Peugeot Garage in Tulle France. Due to a complete lack of replacement Hertz rental vehicles in the Limoges, Brive area of France at this time, I was eventually offered a replacement vehicle on Saturday 11th. July at Aurillac, some two hours away from Uzerche!! A taxi service was provided by Hertz and the replacement vehicle was collected from the Hertz Franchise office in Aurillac. For four days of the nine-day rental contract I was without a replacement rental vehicle and will be claiming compensation from Hertz for the lack of supply during this period. "

At the Hertz desk however.... This is not the case I had an incredibly stressful 40 minutes trying to get in contact with my credit card company to try raise my credit limit to allow the rental... Luckily I was able to do so otherwise I would have been left 2 hours away from my end destination with no means of getting there... Complelty unacceptable I hope to receive a response from this! "

" I booked an extra insurance to cover for the excess amounts. This was indicated on the voucher. On the voucher you also indicated that this would be covered by Thrifty because Auto Europe is not an insurance company. However, when I arrived, Thrifty made me sign the contract that stated I did not have this insurance. When I pointed this out they said that if something happened I should claim back the excess with Auto Europe. I needed the car, so I signed their contract, but I have had an uneasy feeling during the days that I rented the car and that I paid for an insurance that I didn't get. I'm just glad I didn't have any damage, but I'm not sure if I will ever book through an intermediate company anymore. "

I have only rated the condition of the car, a VW Polo, as 7 because the mandatory safety equipment (Warning Triangle and Hi Viz vests) were missing and there were also no breathalyzer kits which I understand are also mandatory in France. I should have checked these before driving away, but I didn't because it slipped my mind and we were anxious to reach our final destination before dark. I'm surprised these were not there and not mentioned by the agent because the car was almost brand new. Otherwise the car was lovely, easy to drive, great satnav (which we weren't expecting) and very economical. The Europcar Office was shut when we dropped off the car so I had to use the key drop off box and was unable to provide this feedback to the agent. It's surprising that the car hire office shuts for 2 hrs at lunch time (like just about everything else in the area) because this clashes with when customers will be returning vehicles prior to afternoon flights. However, it was not a big problem. "

We spent time cleaning the inside of the car during our hire period thinking we would be blamed for returning in an untidy condition. On reflection we should have reported when we picked the car but we decided to accept because of time. We did however take some photos just in case it became an issue. "

Release deposit sum then apply another charge ?You may experience tales like mine here in your work...... but I remain absolute in my insistence that this is nothing to do with me. We had upgraded from the "twingo" sized car to a small saloon car, but on arrival we were given a massive Peugeot 508 - the car was too big and I would have preferred to have just the size I ordered- rural France has lots of narrow windy roads and tight car parks, that made it really uncomfortable to drive. 2. There were lots of marks/scuffs on the car and I was nervous about being charged for an existing mark/scuff that hadn't been listed - this was probably unwarranted worry, but it was still a concern, particularly with it being a big car used around rural France with narrow, windy roads with plenty of opportunities for scrapes. " I was appalled by the service and products provided, having of hired a car only one time previously at Malaga airport I can honestly say that the experience shamed hiring a car at Limoges by a large amount. I would never hire a car from here again. "
" To begin with the car seat provided wasnt compatable with the car. also due to my baby being under 1 by law she is required to sit rear facing in a suitable car seat - this was not provided. All that I was offered was a very old car seat that didnt even have an isofix base. I had to choose the car seat myself in the end as the men at the desk weren't interested in what I had to say. The car seat that was the only one with the isofix base also wasnt rear facing, the only rear facing car seat that was suitable for my 8 month old baby didnt have any harness on it. The car seats provided were all filthy the layer of food that was dried on the only suitable one was disgusting!! The brakes on the hire car crunched on the car everytime they were pressed them also there wasnt any screen wash in the vehicle - when travelling in the country this is a requirement. "

Last time I visited it was the Euro car desk that was busy. Limoges office should work out a plan so people do not have to wait for hours. "

" All went very well thank you except that the compulsory yellow jackets were not in the car. We discovered this after we had left the airport having searched the car in vain. Fortunately we were not stopped by the police but we were concerned and our attempts to buy some locally proved impossible. We were in a remote sparsely populated area. Otherwise all went very well. " Car was fine - a bit worried about checking dents on arrival etc as very dark - however very good service from desk at airport and very good value for money - also no one there to check back in for return flight a concern as again no check on car condition ie someone could have run into it in the carpark after I left and I might be liable ! Ps It was just as I found it with no more damage and tank overfowing from garage 2 miles away. Would definately use you again - thanks. "
