When I went to where I was told to meet I waiting with another group and we rang every 10 minutes , each time told someone was en route to pick us up. Auto Europe failed to pass any of this vital information on to Easirent. This led to a catastrophic hire car experience, which has literally left me scared for life. My flight was delayed by 2 hours. When I landed at Liverpool airport, my hire car was not at the airport as promised by Auto Europe. Auto Europe stated on my booking confirmation that the office of the hire car company, Easirent, was open from 6am to Midnight. Another outright lie. My plane arrived at 19h30. My hire car was not at the airport as stated. The Easirent office, off-site, was not open as stated and Easirent did not even answer the telephone. I was left stranded, a lone female traveller, with no hire car and no alternative means of transport. As I was trying to track down the Easirent office, which Google maps stated was a 24 minutes' walk from the airport, I tripped on an uneven pavement and fell flat on my face. I was taken to the hospital with severe abrasions to my face and broken front teeth. I am still recovering from these terrible injuries. The following day when I contacted both Auto Europe and Easirent, there was not a shred of sympathy or apology or any attempt to put right the situation in terms of getting a car to me. Each blamed the other and said that I was a "no show" and they could not do anything until the full 5-day rental time of the booking had finished. They also played the 'blame Covid card' which made my blood boil. No way can any of this be blamed on Covid. It has taken me 4 weeks to get a response from Auto Europe and it will be another 15 days before they pay me my money back. If any good advice could come out of this awful experience, it would to recommend that you always book directly with the hire car companies, and never through an agency – especially not Auto Europe – and that you never select Easirent for your hire cars. I tried calling the depo but there was no answer, in the end I took the risk with the unleaded and thankfully this was correct. "

" Due to the failure of my other AE booking with Easirent Liverpool airport I made an online booking with AE and literally turned up 5 minutes later at Alamo by Enterprise. Unfortunately although I managed to book an economy car there were none available. So I took a Nissan Qashqai and paid extra for it (I think it was the same amount again - so double). The agent at Alamo was superb - I explained I was travelling because of an emergency and he pulled out all the stops to help me. Very grateful. "

" I have been using Auto Europe for years and always been very happy with the service / price and support. On the law of averages there is bound to be a disaster once in a while .... and fortunately because your price was so good I have not lost too much money. (Although the Alamo rental was triple the price due to lack of cars and I made the booking for an economy car only 5 minutes before arriving - in fact they only had a much higher grade cars available). I was just glad to get a car regardless and needed to get on my way. So in summary the majority of the blame for what happened lies with myself. In my rush to travel I should have taken time out to review my arrangements before boarding the plane to Liverpool. With hindsight I am being a bit harsh with my criticism of Easirent - I should have worked harder contacting them and AE and double checked the office location. Sorry to go on ... fortunately my wife is okay and will recover quickly. If you review my bookings you will see the Alamo one made a few minutes before pick up - and of course they only had premium cars so I paid double at their office. " Very disappointing. No flexibility or assistance from Easirent. Due to a family emergency - a car accident involving my wife - I arrived 24 hours early to go to hospital where my wife was detained. I was stressed out unfortunatelyand not thinking clearly. I was unable to get through on the phone to Easirent and made my way to Easirent office which frustratingly had been relocated. Easyrent could not change my booking or offer me a car. I was advised to cancel my auto europe booking but by then it was 23 hours before original planned booking. Then Easirent offered me a car (10 times more expensive than the original booking or simply wait 24 hours for the original booking to be honoured ). The AE website told me to contact AE direct by phone but I couldn't get through to you Fortunately I then made a fresh booking with AE website and got a car from Alamo. "

However it was a different story at drop off, I drove up to the office looking for a space to park the car and was advised to 'park anywhere on the right' by the gentleman working for Hertz. Since there were no spaces available as far as I could see I parked the car next to the office. When the Hertz employee came over to check the car he rudely said 'Are you just going to leave it there?' To which my wife replied 'there are no spaces'. He then sarcastically said 'there are a couple of hundred spaces down there love' which was a very unprofessional way to address a customer. This was very disappointing as we have always had a good experience with Hertz in the past. "

" Our daughter dropped us off to pick up the car, Sunday lunchtime 23rd December. all was fine until i produced my Spanish EU driving licence when they insisted they had to have a printed out copy of our return plane ticket. I showed them the proof of ticket on my smart phone. Not good enough. where was i to get a copy? They couldn't say. No they could not accept me sending an email with the ticket for them to print out. They were not allowed to do this. Could I then cancel the car hire? Not without incurring a cost. We had to call my daughter to come back for us. We then set out to look for somewhere to get an email printed out! Luckily a nearby Hotel receptionist obliged willingly . How comforting to discover good will does exist. But NOT at Easirent. On return they took the paper copy, but their machine rejected my UK credit card! I had used it several times since arriving in UK. Luckily the machine accepted my Spanish credit card. Eventually we left with the car. Later I phoned Nat West, they had refused the payment because Easirent transaction asked for £15,000 deposit not £1,500 ! Day before drop off i rang Easirent to ask if there was a shuttle from the rental to nearby Liverpool airport. Yes was the reply. In fact they just get a driver to take the client in the car they hired and the client pays the drop off fee. That was fine, but why not be honest and explain the drop off procedure when I rang? "

There was a little confusion about collection for the vehicle which left us walking around looking for the pick-up point (this could be solved with a map providing directions. On collection the car was very low on fuel, so had to be fueled straight away. Staff were friendly and helpful and due to darkness the car was not checked over with them on collection or return. " AutoEurope as a company are great. We've dealt with them lots of times. Easirent, on the other hand, seem to be steadily going downhill. "
" Our flight on Wed 5 Dec was delayed such that the Easirent office was closed by the time we got to Liverpool. Their rules are that if the car isn't collected within 5 hours, then we lose the rental - which we did. The following morning, despite explaining to the man at the desk that we were delayed beyond our control, he remained unnecessarily pedantic about the the proof of our address that was required to commence a completely new rental agreement (we, like most other people these days, do not have paper-copy utility bills, showing our home address (they are all digital), and anyway we certainly didn't have one on this occasion, as we had already hired a car for the previous day!). The only document we could provide was over 3 months old. Did it REALLY matter under the extreme circumstances in which we found ourselves?!?! The result was that he insisted on seeing proof of our return flight, which was also awkward, as Ryanair now don't let you check in until 3 days before departure, so we had difficulty in locating the necessary booking online. So, overall, after a disastrous night, where we couldn't get home to North Wales, Easirent didn't make it any better. Another point worth making is that the staff there are negligent in not proactively warning renters about the Merseyflow toll system (they used to have information leaflets out on the desk to advise people, but now they are hidden in a tray at the back, so tourists, or individuals new to Liverpool, will likely have no understanding of how the system works and just how UN- user-friendly it is!). The cynic in me says that it's because Easirent stand to make money out of customers who fall foul of the fine system. Poor show overall. "

" Green Motion Liverpool is a sham and rip-off. Having patronised Green Motion twice within the month, Stanstead and Amsterdam, I have to single out Green Motion Liverpool as out of sync. The low price attraction offered was countered by the extra levy of added insurance cost for failing to produce a passport. On arrival, the operative tried selling an insurance offer that I declined. Once he found out that I had no passport, it be became compulsory that I bought the insurance premium, according to him. All my explanation that I had travelled into the Liverpool as part of an internal travel plan did not appeal to him. I made him realise that I had only recently patronised both Green Motion outlets as earlier identified the operative insisted on the extra payment to atone for the non-provision of a passport. Cornered, I paid and had the car. This was gotten on the highest premium. Once in the car, I found out that the amount of fuel in the car was less than what was marked. I went back to complain. 'Noted', he said, asked me to go that he would make the amendment later. I stayed and insisted that he made the amendment while I was still there. He did, but never gave me a copy of the amended sheet. The tyre indicator on the dash was lit. I did not bother going back to complain since I was already fully covered for any eventuality anyway. Or, so I thought. On my return the next day, the fellow who did the inspection of the car 'spotted' a low tyre pressure. "You have a flat", he told me, and asked that I go back to the same operative that I dealt with the previous day. Pronto, my bill will be 400 pounds he informed, else, take the car to the nearest garrage and buy a new tyre. When I raised the issue of a tyre alert noticed on collection, I should have reported back and taken another car he told me. He probably felt touched by something, offered to go with with me to the garage to get it sorted. That last kind gesture reduced my last bill to ten pounds. When I asked the essence of high insurance premium that he made me undertake, it means they cannot make me pay anything over four hundred pounds, he explained. I had a flight to catch back to my base and was happy to walk. Who knows what maybe lurking ahead. After all, they still have four hundred pounds from my credit card locked in their account. " Please see following complaint email sent on 24-09-18. No response received. The pick-up process was unnecessarily lengthy and complex and the car I received was not up to standard. 1. Although I appreciate that all the information was available pre-pickup, it was not made obvious to the customer and feels like it is designed to mislead the customer into a situation where they are obliged to pay more for their rental. Burying the essential information that UK residents must bring 2 forms of ID as the 5th sentence, of the 3rd bullet on the 3rd page of the booking voucher really does not help. As evidenced by the SIX people who experience this same problem in the 2 hours I was at Easirent. Look at the "Tips for a Smooth Car Hire Experience", first tick lists "all" the documentation you need. Except it doesn't does it? 2. Unnecessarily specific requirements on provision of a credit card in the 1st driver's name. (4 people in 2 hours also had this issue). I was present at the pick-up, with my credit card, and prepared to even add myself onto the booking. I made and paid for the booking, but this was not good enough. Even a £1500 sale on a debit card (just as good if not better than an auth on a credit card was not acceptable. The alternative - pay £190 for additional insurance plus a credit check. A cynic might think this policy is designed to be difficult to drive sales of the insurance policy which is worth approximately £9.95. All of which meant I had to swap the booking into my name (which, to give you credit, the person on the phone from auto europe did for free and was very helpful), then add on Penni as a named driver at a cost of £50 (more than the original rental!). I then had to go home to get all my docs, which incurred additional taxi costs at £13. 3. To rub salt in the wounds, after I've jumped through every hoop, paid an additional £63, plus a £95 deposit for PETROL(!), I'm taken out to the car... Which is not an i20 equivalent (on your website) or a Fiesta equivalent (on easirent's website), but a Toyota Aygo. When I said it was the wrong car group, I was told it was, because it had 5 doors. When I pointed out the near-by Insignia also had 5 doors (being purposely pedantic), I was told it was not in the group I had booked because it was bigger. Exactly! It's the size of car, not the number of doors. A Toyota equivalent to a Fiesta or i20 is a Yaris, not an Aygo. We needed to get multiple people and a car seat in the car. I only noticed once I was home and fitting the car-seat, that the Aygo is a strict 4-seater (4 belts), not the 5-seater I booked. I'm sure easirent would not be happy with 5 people illegally riding in the car. I was handed the key and it is a plain black key with no keyring, buttons, etc. and I comment that they'd lost the main key with remote locking so I'd have to use the secondary key that has to manually lock and unlock the car - on the driver's door only. Wow, we're back to the 90's! There was a lot of external light damage to many panels and wheels, I had to identify most of it and it was dusk. The interior plastics were streaked and dirty looking There was a big object on the windscreen - on returning to the desk and enquiring, this is a tracker and dash-cam. No mention at any point of this or collection of permission to record us. First time I've ever experienced this on a hire car. 4. I requested some reduction of rental or compromise on the additional cost incurred and experienced the same indifferent "It's not my fault" service that I and everyone else with these problems experienced the whole time I was there. We were told it was our fault for booking through a 3rd party, that it was the 3rd party's policy when often it was not, and the member of staff was forcefully and rudely enforcing rules that contradicted the printed policy and the conditions of booking. I was offered an additional 2-3 hours on my booking. As it was 2-3 hours after my booking that I finally managed to drive away this was laughable. Please could you confirm how you are going to address these issues with your supplier and what suitable recompense you can offer to me. "

And because we were unable to start until late Saturday morning we will have to go back again to complete the first appointment which we had to cancel. We were subsequently late for the second appointment but got to it. We will have to book Train ticket + car hire + Hotel again to complete the first appointment!!!! By the time all my administration was complete it was 11.50 and I was then informed my car was not available. This is unacceptable in its entirety. Since the charge was a mistake and not in the course of ordinary business the transaction fees should not be bore by me the customer. So I ask that you refund the difference of €3.86. " The worst car hire com pay I have had EVER experienced. I usually use Enterprise who always call me 24 hours before my car is due to be picked up, due to personal issues I got the days mixed up and turned up a day late. No one had bothered to call me all day to see if i wanted the car. Then when I turn up to collect it they wouldn't give it to me because i dont own a credit card, but I had 3 debit cards they couple have used. Piss poor service, no apology and 3 times trying to get a refund (They said I would get one) and they gave me a number for head office but they never answer the phone. Attrocius company, useless, no regard for their customers whatsoever. I own a magazine in Liverpool, certainly won't be recommending you "

Also she was very forceful in trying to pay for an upgrade and just could not accept that I only wanted the car I had ordered. Finally despite returning the car an hour early I received a phone car from Interrent 24 hours after the return informing me that I had not returned the car and they wanted to arrange extra hire so as I was covered by insurance. How can I return the car and they do not know about it. "

" the appearance of the car was totally unacceptable.the car we were given had large dents and scrape marks along one side and several other noticeable marks and scratches elsewhere. when we asked if we could have another car we were told that there weren't any of that class available and that we would have to upgrade at an extra charge. why at an extra charge when they couldn't supply what was ordered ? in the end we were offered an upgrade on our next rental.no use to us,we won't be using them again. we noticed that the fuel gauge was low considering there should have been £30 fuel in it. this was confirmed when we filled up later getting almost a full tank for £40. later during our trip we noticed that a tyre had no tread on one edge "

" The office filled out docs to say the car was damage free, when I inspected the car it had minor scratches at the front. An employee in the car park said that everyone new about this damage as it had hit a Rolls Royce. I had the docs amended nevertheless - the office should have been aware. "
