" Auto Europe gave me a cheaper quote than other companies which is why I booked through them. However, need to check the information for picking up the car as the shuttle bus went from a different stand from what was indicated in the booking information. "
" The bus information was incorrect; it went from a different place and we were able to get a different bus on the way back. When I went to collect the car, I was offered an upgrade but declined as it was considerably more than I had paid. Then I was told the car I had booked hadn't been returned yet so would have to wait. Other companies normally immediately give an upgrade in this situation. After waiting for quite a while, I was given a new car which had arrived the previous day but hadn't been put into the system. Why this wasn't done before is a mystery, likewise, I could/should have been given the 'upgrade' they offered, which is the experience I have had with other companies. The return took ages too as there are not enough staff working and the two on the desk take care of pick up and returns, unlike other companies I have used. Main positive was the price which was quite a bit lower than other companies but will certainly take into account my experience this time round to decide whether to use Green Motion again. "

" I would normally take AE full insurance cover, but for this vehicle it wasn't an option. It would be better if AE offered this on all vehicles. I had hired a car with Alamo, through AE the previous week and was able to take the full cover on that occasion. So strange it wasn't available. But on the whole, I am satisfied with the AE service "
" I was disappointed with the way that the staff tried to pressure my wife over and over to take out their additional insurance. On returning the vehicle the staff pointed out some damage on one of the tyres and said they would keep my £200 deposit. I found this damage suspicious as, firstly staff were not keen on me photographing the vehicle, secondly, on return the staff walked straight up to that specific wheel (back left) and immediately pointed to the area, it was as if they knew it was there, (an odd place to start the inspection as you would normally do so from the front as you approach the vehicle) and lastly because they said if you show me the picture of the tyre when you collected the car, the they wouldn't make the deduction, which again suggests it was pre-existing. Unfortunately I only took pictures of the rims not the tyres. I have still not had the off hire paperwork they said they would send me straight away. I would not rent another vehicle at Alamo Luton again "

" There were confusing complications at Luton Airport with the reception person basically telling me that despite paying for the Collision Damage Waiver, I could be liable for multi-thousand pound charges in the event of any damage to the car whatsoever. It turns out that the person was working for Europcar (Europcar ref 156496392) and his intent was to scare me into paying him over £300 for additional insurance which I did, thinking that the cost of hiring the car through yourselves would be deducted; but it wasn't and I found that my bank account had been charged over £500 including the money paid to yourselves. I am now pursuing a complaint and seeking redress through the BVRLA. "

I discovered that the engine oil and the ad-blue was insufficient, and this troublesome me during the entire trip and really spoil my mood. On my booking, I requested and mention that I will cross-border to Edinburgh. However, the car is not really under maintained, I had to refill 6L engine oils and 10L ad-blue in order to continue my journey. " Auto Europe was a shambles. I was left stranded in Luton with no car. I booked to collect at 20:00. Unfortuantley the place was delayed so didn't manage to get there until just before 20:30. On arrival there was no one there and the offices were closed. There was no mention of needing to book out of hours collection. I couldn't get through on any of the out of hours numbers and gave up after being on hold for over an hour. I ended up having to book a hotel in the hope I could collect the car the next morning. On arrival the next day I was told that the booking was cancelled and there would be no option to reinstate it. The woman I spoke to was absolutely awful and the most stuck-up and obnoxious person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I ended up having to make another booking with the car hire company directly. The online system should not have allowed me to book this. I put the flight number in the system so they would have seen it was delayed by half an hour. Why request the flight number if no one is checking it? All in a terrible experience. "

" Most shocking & unpleasant experience with Enterprise! They failed my Identity Check which meant they couldn't release the car as arranged. I provided my UK driving license, 'freshly' generated Driving License Sharing Code, my current bank statement and Council Tax statement. None of them meant anything apparently as they only relied totally on their computer screen. No effort of phone calls being made to their software provider to check accuracy (or inaccuracy). I would ensure not to rent any cars from Enterprise, Alamo & National from now on unless their management could convince me that they have a reliable data software check which provide accuracy - and a 'back-up' plan carried out by human check for ID verification! As the result of being refused rental car from Enterprise, I managed to get one from their competitor right next door to them, and I PASSED the identity check from AVIS & Budget. "

" Have a "price guarantee", but don't adhere to it. On the site it says to email or phone the agents if you see the price cheaper. At night, the offices are closed so cannot call. Email is checked in the morning (including screenshots of cheaper price) and are told to call the number. When the number is called, a new price is showing (more expensive), and they say they can't do anything and that I should have "modified" the booking. Surely if that was true, it should have mentioned on the site rather than tell me to first email and then call again. "

" Auto Europe should discuss the issue of a non-existent 'full to full' fuel policy with Green Motion, as if this is incorrect and 'just what the broker tell you', potential customers shouldn't be misled - as I was. "
" On pick up I was advised that the 'full to full' fuel policy (which is standard these days for all reputable hire car companies) advertised on AutoEurope did not apply to Green Motion, and that their company policy is 'return the car with the current fuel level'. So right from the off I had to start with a car with no fuel, and return it empty (otherwise I would be giving them free fuel at the end of my hire). I had forgotten my passport (strange requirement for a domestic booking - what if I had no passport?) and so had to return home to get this - by which time they had released my booking (I paid extra for an estate), so they could only offer me a smaller car, or charge me extra for an automatic estate (which would have made the total hire cost x3!). I wasn't given time to inspect the vehicle on pick-up either, instead being advised I had until 10am to email over photos of any pre-existing damage, but no email address was provided, so I had to send these to the generic customer services email. They advised me they would pass this over to the branch and come back to me, but never did. Judging by the reviews that others have left for Green Motion, I spent the entire rental fearing they would try to charge me for pre-existing damage. Drop-off wasn't much better, as I was told to 'go and wait for someone to come out to you in the car park'. When I parked the car, I was asked to move it to another part of the car park, and then after parking a 2nd time, the guy again changed his mind and asked me to park it somewhere else (didn't know I was a valet working for them!). All of this took best part of 45 minutes, far from ideal when I had someone waiting to take me home, and the maximum waiting time for anyone in this car park without paying was 15 mins! Can only imagine that if I had a flight to catch then they would have made me miss it! On asking for a copy of the completed and signed-off rental agreement after drop-off, I was advised they would email me a copy. It's now been 5 days and I'm still waiting! Conclusion: cheap for a reason. "

" I was initially very please with making my car hire reservation through Keddy (Auto Europe) however, things quickly took a turn for the worse. I booked a car rental booking over the phone through a broker (Auto Europe) for a 5-day period (7th to 11th September). The supplier of the car was Europe Car. Booking Number (4976640) I made a full payment for my booking over the phone. When I arrived on the same day to pick up my car from the Europe Car Center, I was told that my car had been given away to another customer. They then told me if I wanted a car, I had to make a brand-new booking and pay for it again and then pursue a refund from Auto Europe. Both myself and the worker at the Europe car Center tried to phone Auto Europe to resolve the issue but the Auto Europe phone lines were closed. Since I desperately needed the car to get me to the destination I was heading to for the evening and also for the event in the morning the next morning, I had to make a new booking directly with Europe car whilst I was there in order to have a car in time for the next morning. When I called Auto Europe the following days to explain the situation and request my refund, they are refusing to issue m refund saying that their terms and conditions says that they don't issue a refund if a customer arrives late. I was however not made aware of the these terms and conditions whilst I was boking the car rental. The agent on the phone did not mentions anything at all about this condition. I would like my full refund since I was not made fully away of this when I was booking my car rental over the phone. "

" Green motion offer a very cheap package so it's not surprising there are some downsides, off airport, a long wait to collect car, no full to full fuel policy tho it is advertised as such and very heavy admin penalties for anything not in the contract. Staff are friendly, if you are clear about the deal it is good value. "

Europcar wouldn't even promise me that, having treated me apallingly when I arrived at their desk. "

" I only discovered during a long drive that the airconditioning didn't work that well. The radio kept loosing even national stations. The air conditioning made a noise. I didn't have time to take the car back to a europcar depot to change it. I I feel too that to give a 2 year old car out with 29000 miles on the clock isn't very good, from an international branded company. If I had gone with a local cheaper company then ok.. When I returned the car noone checked it , I asked for a receipt that I had returned it, and there was no damage, I was told one would be sent the next day by email. I'm still waiting. When I returned the car at 830 pm , I said to the guy , that the car was horrible, he said yes he knows. In which case whay have such cars in the fleet. My issue isn't with auroeurope but with Europcar . I feel that If I had booked direct with them I would have got a better car, this was sort of suggested too. "

" I had a couple of issues. Firstly, i really wanted to avoid a pickup at the car hire centre at Luton airport and get something in the terminal (I don't even know if this is possible). Your website didn't make this clear enough. Most of them said on airport (which is strictly true) but one said shuttle bus. Turns out they are all probably shuttle bus. Calling one out as shuttle bus suggests the others aren't. When I found out about my flight delay I contacted Auto Europe to see what would happen if I was late. This really didn't help, especially when I was travelling with a 3 year old. 1. I was told it was unlikely I could get the car in the morning if I missed the pickup. When I eventually spoke to Alamo they said I would be able to get the car. 2. I was told the care hire office shut at 23:30, despite what the car hire website said and what i later confirmed as not true when I spoke to Alamo. It shut at 00:00. When you are cutting it fine already this really didn't help. 3. I was also told that Alamo normally ignore calls from Auto Europe and I should just call myself. To be honest, this worked out better for me anyway as they were much clearer on what was going on. "

I have been looking for a regular hire company that is easy to use and great value for a fantastic car. You really had ticked all the boxes. " My departure was delayed by half an hour because when I tried to start the engine the onboard computer said start up impossible due to no ad blue in the tank. I called someone over and there was no ad blue on site. He had to call a friend and go and get some. This should have been checked. On return? I left the plot in tears as the woman who checked me back in was so so rude. I had taken the car home from my break first to unload. I got the dustpan out as we had been in the car for five hours and had eaten lunch I wanted to sweep the crumbs up. I didn't realise that I had transferred a few dog hairs to the car from the brush. The woman who checked the car back in asked if I had dogs in the car and I truthfully told her no. She told me I should be honest with her. I offered to call the resort I had stayed at as they do not allow dogs. She again asked me to be honest and said it looked like I'd had dogs I. The car. There must have been five hairs! She said well you should not put the dog in the car. I repeated that I hadn't. she completed my contract and said that for future reference do not put your dogs in the car I again told her (for now about the 6th time) that I did not have a dog in the car and she said why are you arguing I'm closing your contract aren't I? . I'm just saying in future don't have the dog in the car. I said but you are basically calling me a liar to my face. She just shrugged and walked off smirking. This all took place in a busy car park. She was loud and sarcastic and rude the whole time this conversation went on smirking and shaking her head at me. . I was absolutely embarrassed and being called a liar to my face is just unbelievable. I had taken a 3 day break as my daughter is very unwell and we needed some down time. I hired a car so the whole thing was a treat. I absolutely loved the car I hired and the price was amazing. It's just a shame that I had to leave the car park in tears to end my break. "

" Staff at the counter was very slow, only two people were there. with only on person before me, i had to wait 30 min. When I picked up the car, there was not any fuel in the car, despite the contract saying the car will have full tank. The people who picked up the car before me, came back and also reported no fuel in the car. This is a bit suspicious, that two cars in a row do not have fuel in the tank. And I doubt it so many people were returned the car empty. "

" The only complaint is that the voucher stated that the Shuttle A to Hampton by Hilton would be at bus stand D. This is wrong, and fundamentally misleading. A bus (not A) arrived at D. I told the driver I wanted bus A, and he said it was at another stand, something like G. He said that it often was. At Green Motion, the chap said that the bus was indeed sometimes at G. This is not good enough, and it was a good thing I asked someone. When I returned the car, and took bus A to the airport, it AGAIN stopped at stand G, not A. You have to correct your advice. I bet more than one person has been caught out like this. "

" Hello. Unfortunately, we are grossly unsatisfied with the counter staff member. Our flight arrival was delayed and we got to the car hire center when the Auto Europe office was already closed. We waited for 2.5 hours and were the first clients to show up at the counter when the office opened. However, the manager told us that the car we hired is not available anymore and he can only offer us a car from a more expensive category. What could happen to the car which we booked during these 2.5 night hours while the office was closed??? Why it became unavailable? The price of the car from the more expensive category didn't quite fit the budget of our trip, so we asked the manager which sum we'd be charged if we would cancel the order altogether. The manager was unable to provide us a penalty quote but assumed that the penalty would be equal to the fee for all 7 days of car hire. We asked to verify that but the manager said that he has no idea how to get in touch with Keddy to clarify this option. We were travelling with two small kids and by 6:00am after a night flight we basically had no choice but to agree to whatever manager offered us. We asked to provide us with a booster seat and a child seat, but the manager twice made a mistake in calculations and tried to charge us for 2 child seats instead, which would be significantly more expensive. We would like to ask to compensate us for the incompetency of the staff member and for the additional charges which arose in connection with the inability of the manager to provide us with the car we booked in advance. "

" From a long wait to receive my car, my allotted car was deemed by the counter staff not to be fit to take out so gave me an upgrade. The upgrade had not been cleaned since the previous renter, it was after midnight, dark and I could not give the car a thorough inspection, the counter staff gave the car the quickest of inspections and noted on the condition report exististing damage to the wheels, but suggested I take photos of the vehicle in the morning. The next day when I took the photos I immediately noticed that the front nearside tyre had a cut in it which would have certainly failed an mot. I did however use the car, trouble free, for the duration. On Friday I checked my account and found that I had been charged £225 for the tyre damage........most definitely not caused by me. I of course can't prove that and Easirent have not responded to my email and photos that I sent them on Saturday....I am not happy. "

We just arrived in the UK (Luton Airport) and were about to go and meet our estate agent (who had our lease). You could have just rang the estate agency for the proof of address. " Dreadful experience. I have been renting cars for the last 25 years all over the world from Europe to the US. The breakdown took place on a cold night the day we arrived in London with my 3 kids for Christmas holiday. Europcar was a total failure. Trying to contact them and your company for assistance has been a total failure and waste of time. "
" 20 minutes after the car rental the car broke down on the motorway. We could not reach Europcar for help, but only RAC. The car was finally collected by RAC platform 5 hours after the initial report. Europcar failed totally to provide a replacement car and for a family of 5 people they have provided a 2 door fiat 500 assuring us that they will delivery a car the following day. They never contacted us so finally I had to return the car back. I expect full refund as I have paid for full insurance including replacement car. The staff at Luton. Europcar station was very rude, full of lies. They gave me a car with 13.200 miles whereas on the contact it was written 6.500. They have charged me for fuel £136 for fuel that I have not used, as they have delivered to me supposingly a car with full in fuel which broke down 20 minutes later and the breakdown was reported to RAC. " Auto Europe is a large car rental broker, and as such should carefully select its suppliers. If I don't get a refund for the ordeal we were put through, I would not recommend Auto Europe. Choose your suppliers wisely, their reputation is your reputation too! "
" I already raised a complaint and a request for refund. Easirent had one person at the counter, and 7 clients queuing before us. We arrived at 10:00 pm, and left the location at 12:45 am!!! The car on the contract was Opel Corsa, the car we left with - Toyota Aygo. Another person was washing cars, and delivering these, which delayed the whole process immensely. Everyone on the queue had reservation, and none of the cars were ready!!!! Not a single client was served without some sort of a problem, and many were shouting at the man at the desk. The worst, however, was that at 12:00 am we were forced to either accept further charges or to leave without a car, because after the clerk charged us with a fuel deposit of 95 GBP, there were no sufficient funds in the credit card. We were not allowed to use another card, and we were not informed that there will be an extra deposit. So we ended up paying another 90 GBP for lowering the deposit, or we would have left without a car. I cannot imagine a worse scenario for car pick up! "

" I have use easirent twice, first time at Bristol was terrible, this time at Luton better. Their policies are inconsistently applied. I was asked at Luton to provide 2x proof of addresses to match my driving licence which was impossible as I have recently changed my name and moved house and the licence is yet to be updated. My rental was almost refused because of it until I said I was returning overseas in which case I just had to show my return flight details and then the 2 proofs of address were not required. This seems like a ploy to trip up UK licence holders and make money on the no cancellation reimbursement within 24 hours of rental start?? Also we were not asked for the proofs of address at Bristol Easirent - nor have I ever been asked for it with other rental companies. Fuel policy, both rentals I have opted for Full to Full but have been given a car with 1/4 tank of fuel. They mark it as empty and tell you to just bring it back empty and then you've had 1/4 tank for free but the point of opting for full-full is so that you don't have the stress of trying to run down a car who's fuel consumption you're not used to down to a specific level as they won't refund you if you bring it back with more than they give it to you with. Just fill them all up on return and charge anyone who doesn't bring it back full! They were the cheapest option which is why I used them twice but if there wasn't much in the price I would go with another company. "

I booked the vehicle for 2 days and paid accordingly. I did only need the vehicle for about a day and a half. I mistakenly put the return time as 1600 instead of 1800. I arrived back to return it and was charged an extra £60 for a further days rental even though my 2 day rental finished the following day. The staff refused my requests and a female staff member was extremely rude. I was not able to get a receipt for the 31000 refund to my credit card nor was I allowed a receipt for the extra £60 I paid. When I picked up the car I was told it was damage free. I checked the car and it was filthy inside and out. I had to clean the front alloys to find damage and also clean the boot area to find damage. I am sure had I not dome this I would have been charged by them. I will avoid at all costs "

" I arrived at Luton airport and took the bus to the car hire centre. Easirent is not based there so had to go back to the airport and take a shuttle bus to a carpark in a village. Easirent was based in an indistinct portakabin at the back of this carpark and there were a lot of depressed looking people standing around outside. Once I entered the portakabin I understood why. There was a long queue of people waiting for cars and more people coming back inside after receiving significant downgrades. The man in front of me paid for an executive Mercedes and was given a small hatchback. All customers were told that £1500 would be held on their credit cards for up to 2 weeks unless they paid additional charges. The whole process was obviously designed to be confusing and people who were late for appointments were basically paying for stuff they didn't need just so they could get a car and get out of there. I had to pay an extra fee to remove the £1500 hold, even though I had already paid AutoEurope for increased liability. When I finally signed all the paperwork and went outside to collect my car I encountered another queue of people waiting for cars. There were no cars available and we had to just take whatever arrived back. After almost two hours, I was given a tiny Toyota Aygo car. I'm 6' 4" so I would never hire such a small car. I was told I could either take it or wait even longer for the car I ordered. I was already late for a meeting so I just took the car, which I was told had a full tank of petrol. When I was almost out of the gate I look at the fuel meter. It was empty. I turned the car around and went back into the office. They basically took the keys off a guy who was returning his car and told me to take it. The car was not cleaned or checked out in any way. When returning the car I went to leave the keys and rush to catch my flight. The guy on the desk told me to get to the back of the queue. I refused to stand in line and watch my flight take off without me, so left the keys and the car with them. I hope they don't try anything dodgy and I'm keeping a close eye on my credit card. "

I have rented with all major rental companies (Avis, Budget, Enterprise, etc..) and even with budget rental companies like Greenmotion - but never have I come across a pack of thieves like Interrent. 1. When I booked through AutoEurpe there was no mention of a charge for drivers licence under 4 years. But the booking letter I received later included a penalty of GBP 25 per day for DL's less than 4 years. Free cancellation was also limited to 48 hours before rental date resulting in me not being able to cancel the reservation as well. I ended up having to fork out more than the rental cost for fees due to my UK license being under 4 years. I have an international license for 20 years, but I did not have it physically with me at the time. 2. The Interent agents were very indifferent and did not inspect the car or take mileage at the time of pick up. I had to take photos of the damages, write them down and get them to sign it. I had to also take pictures of the mileage at pick up and drop off. 3. Two days after returning the car, I noticed an extra GBP 65 on my credit card statement. On contacting customer support I was told it was for excess mileage. The mileage allowed per day was given as 90 miles -I used only 71 miles. Agent on the phone insisted it was 90 KM. However, the rental agreement had it as 90 miles in black and white. I had to end up sending a copy of the rental agreement and photographic evidence of before/after mileage to cs@goldcar.com. Still waiting for resolution. "

" Never really had issues before like the above. Having said that it was usually Hertz or Europcar that the hire was from. Also due to all the changes, licence and DVLA wise this also contributed to all the confusion. Mabe the terms and conditions need to be highlighted more re the changes. To have to provide, a photo licence, proof of address, passport, NI number and a further DVA number, to prove no points on the licence at time of pick up is just too far. Surely all these things could be done online on the booking form. Not sprung up on you ,when your flight has been delayed by three hours, all you want to do is pick up your car and go. Also does seem that the original "cheap price" hides an upselling opportunity, because of the credit card issue, we had to pay another 18.00 per day, so not a great bargain after all. All in all it does make me think twice about recommending Auto Europe and or using your services again. "

When returning the car on the 27th June there were minor scratches on two of the alloys. I explained to Saleh the office administrator they were caused by potholes in the road. I also pointed out to him that almost all the other cars in their rental fleet had these scratches which they did not bother fixing. He told me that because I received an almost brand new car I need to pay for any damage even if these are minor damages which are routinely overlooked. I was screwed because I received a brand new car !!! "

The office is also not closet to the airport, a bus needs to be taken and is neither alongside other hire companies .So if there office is closed, one can go next door to other. So on end i couldn't find anyone on phone and there did not seem to be a point to go and check if the office had late staff. I took alternative options. " I had purchased insurance through auto Europe when I arrived at easirent they said that insurance doesn't mean anything to them and they told me I either have to deposit 1250 pounds or buy another insurance for 42 pounds, which I did. I waited for an hour to get the car, there was one guy working and instead of handling each customer he was juggling all customers. When the car came, it was dirty and the left mirror was cracked. The guy how was checking the condition of it tried not to mark it and said it is ok because I bought full coverage insurance. Dropping the car off was as a bad but wasn't efficient either. I had to wait for another guy to come and inspect the car and then waited for the shuttle for 30 minutes. Overall very shady operation, I felt like I was bullied into buying the insurance and the amount I paid for the insurance is excessive, I typically pay 8 to 12 pounds for a daily coverage, 42 felt like a ripoff. "

" The time before last when I hired from Green Motion at Stanstead on return They informed me that one of the wheels was different to the other three and that the inflation kit had been used. On collection I did not check to see if all the wheels were the same make! Nor did I check under the boot to check the inflation kit. Am I supposed to do an MOT? I write this because I feel that this should go on record. As I travel abroad a lot I rent a car regularly at Luton airport and have never experienced anything like this. It was the first time I had used Green Motion and it would not wish to take the chance of using them again. Directions were to get on Airways bus but no mention of which bus stop...we asked around and were told to stand at stop 1(should have been no 12).Eventually got to stance 12 and waited...and waited for bus. " The car was ok, and I was given a Hyndai i10, but with automatic transmission instead. So I asked for a replacement with manual, and they provided one. The car was ok, but I took extra time and I had to wonder around parking lot with an agent to actually find the car. All in total, 30 mins wasted. Also, the agent at the Interrent tryed to sell me supercover, I said that I have already purchased super cover with Auto Europe and didn't want to pay for the same thing twice. Don't know why are they trying that. I did not purchase the second supercover. "
