    Best Tourist Spots in Cyprus

When planning your holiday for the Summer ahead, why not consider the island of Cyprus? Situated in the Eastern Mediterranean sea, it is east of Greece and south of Turkey. Although not as significant in size or influence, this insular country boasts its share of rich history and a wide display of interesting spots worth a visit. You know what I'm about to say next, don't you? If you do take a trip around the island, the most comfortable way to do so is with a hire car in Cyprus from Auto Europe. Surprised? You shouldn't be: we offer the lowest rates possible on every destination in the country, as well as the extras to fulfil any of your travel needs when on the road.

Upon landing at Paphos International airport and setting up your car hire, you can then head to your accommodation and get settled but, better not get too comfy, there is plenty to see and do in Cyprus and you won't see half of it while hiding in your hotel room!

Under Greco-Roman rule, Paphos oozes strong evidence of that culture all over town. By the seaside, you can find the mythical Aphrodite's birthplace and Paphos itself has become a significant place of worship. The House of Dionysus is also an interesting landmark to visit and admire its surprisingly well-preserved mosaics. Hiring a car in Paphos assures you get the full monty when it comes to historical evidence of the island's Roman and Hellenistic eras. When you resume your travels on the road, head to Kourion, an ancient town on the way to Limassol, where you can marvel at the magnificent ruins of a Roman amphitheatre.

Driving to Larnaca will give you the opportunity to explore the remains of Ancient Kitium, whose earliest architectural findings seem to date far back to the 13th century B.C. Another great visit would be to Hala Sultan Tekke, a Muslim shrine located only 3 miles west of the city of Larnaca - travelling in your Larnaca car hire will get you there almost in the blink of an eye!If all this is sounding too much like a history lesson, yawn no more! Cyprus can also provide you with stunning beaches and mouth-watering cuisine. By the southern coast, Ayia Napa is a seaside resort known for its sandy beaches and the place to be if you want to enjoy the nightlife scene! So, whatever your plans, take our advice: have a go at Cyprus and thank us later! Or not, simply make the most of your holiday.

But enough from me, do you have any mythical stories from your Cypriot adventures? Spill it all in our comment box!
