    Visit five wine regions in France

    In September and October grapes are harvested and the wine is produced in the wine regions across France. Accordingly this time marks an annual event, where festivals and traditional celebrations take place.     Alsace

    This region is located in the Northeastern part of France, which lies up to the boarder of Germany in the North and Switzerland in the South. This region offers beautiful scenery, fairytale castle and many popular wineries in the region. The production of wine in Alsace started in the Middle Ages and today grapes like Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Muscat and others are produced here.     Bordeaux

    This is perhaps the most famous wine region in the Western part of France. With its location near the sea and lovely wines, it is perhaps not a surprise, that the area has become so popular. Wine has been produced in this region since the Romans arrived, and is now a wine region that focuses mainly on red wine. In fact, 85% of the wine produced in this region is red wine and varieties like Cabarnet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec are some of the popular types.     Provence

    Many people associate the name of this region with small picturesque French villages and vineyards.     Burgundy

    This province is located in the central part of France with close access to Paris. The famous type of sparkling wine, Champagne, is produced in many areas of this region and champagnes such as Moët et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot and Dom Pérignon are produced here.
