" The car was booked stating that we were traveling to France. This must be very common from Geneva. On collection I was told that their breakdown cover did not extend to France. This is the first time in the many occasions of renting throgh you at Geneva that this has been said (including Unirent/Europcar). Fortunately the hire went smoothly so not a problem this time. You should sort this out as I will be hiring through you for Geneva again and it's a worry. Please advise so I know for the future. "

" Auto Europe did provide a good value service, compared to other suppliers, but even so four days rental of a small car to be over £300 is absurd. "

" Even though my flight was late, my car was not ready. We didn't wait long, but I did expect it to be ready for me. When will companies speed up the check in process? Why does it take so long? I could pre supply my driving licence and credit card details with ID and verify etc, so it's simply a case of collecting keys. The USA has this sorted, when will Europe catch up? This is a criticism of ALL car hire companies, not just this one. "

" please could you contact us as we had an issue with a puncture in our car. The car was taken to a garage in moutiers, which then shut for the weekend, and we had no car to get myself and my young family back to geneva airport. we got no help from customers services, so had to get a bus and 2 trains with all our belongings back to geneva. " There was an issue with our older driving license but valid driving license the fist staff member we saw told us it wasn't legal and wanted a plastic version. When we told hi we didn't have one, he said we couldn't have a car and would cancel the booking. We then saw a manager who knew more and continued with the pick up. If there is an issue with the old uk paper license please can we be told. They are legal and valid and have always been accepted "

" I was delighted to be given an upgrade FOC. Europe car were extremely efficient. The car, VW golf, was practically brand-new. After my bad experience returning it, the checkout was instantaneous and simple. "

" The drop-off at Geneva was as difficult as ever. I've done it lots of times, but it's still a nightmare. I managed to miss the entrance of P 51 and had to drive round the back of the car park to enter from another point. Then the fun started because I was on the wrong floor. The car hire businesses need to have a serious conversation with Geneva airport which should improve the signage and the access, because it's terrible. "

" We had a problem with the car on day two when it wouldn't start as there was a problem with the electrics. We spent a substantial amount of time on the phone trying to explain our situation and speak to the right person. It was very lucky for us as one of our party spoke fluent French! The car was eventually towed away and we were left with no car and no replacement. We were situated outside of the town hence needing a car. We had to catch a bus into town on two occasions and then a taxi back as the bus stopped running. This was at a cost of 30 euros each ride. We tried to get a replacement car but was told this would cost us 500 euros which would be refunded if the car did have a problem. We were not prepared to do this as our confidence in the company was now at zero. "

" I'm sure it's not Unirent's fault, but the poor value at Geneva Swiss side is pretty irritating. I know I can rent from the French side, which is about a third cheaper, but it's an extremely difficult route back and of course Geneva Airport doesn't make it easy. Geneva airport in general is rubbish - confused, slow, expensive, crowded, stupid Queue management etc. The car return to P51 is terrible. Really hard work. I doubt if you have any sway, but if you have, I should be grateful if you would use it and persuade them to improve the signage everywhere, but particularly to the French side. You'll improve your business. Thank you. "

" There was clearly a discrepancy between the car requested , an estate car or similar, and this being categorised as 'intermediate wagon'. Clearly in the eyes of europcar an intermediate wagon did not include estate cars, as the alternative or 'similar' was not an estate. This is the first occasion I have had an argument with a rental company when they have not been able to provide the car requested, and some clarity with the company involved and what is stated on your voucher would be helpful "

" when we arrived at the Europcar counter , they did not have the Skoda octavia estate that we had ordered. This car was chosen because we were 5 adults with 4 suitcases. The person at the counter was trying to indicate that an equivalent car was a VW golf as this was in the intermediate category. This size car would never have been able to accommodate our party + luggage. The voucher clearly states Octavia estate or similar. To me, similar would indicate another estate or similar size not smaller. Ultimately after much discussion I was given a VW Touran which was perfectly satisfactory, but I don't think there should have been much discussion over this, as if the rental agency does not have the car indicated then they can't be offering a car with less space. "

" The agent on site tried to make out that my excess waiver voucher was difficult and that I would still be charged and have to reclaim 3000 Euros from the additional cover I took out .He was very pushy on this . I have no doubt that many customers who have punched the waiver cover are panicked into purchasing a double cover ....Not Good. "

" We had a problem with the car and none of the in car paperwork or rental agreement had any emergency numbers, nor any information on what to do or which number to call. I spent a lot of time and money ringing a German and Swiss number (from France) with no help even when I did get through. The main number in Geneva gave on option 4 for breakdown, but if you chose this, it then stated that this number was no longer in use. Our problem was not critical but it made me very scared if something bad, like an accident or breakdown had occurred. We asked about changing the car which they said we could do but this required us to make a 4 hour each way trip back to Geneva to do so. The garage they recommended to get a repair done was shut. "

My uncle David Mungavin and his partner, Alex Cecil, owned Auto Europe at one time and, if they were still here, they would have been very disappointed with the appalling treatment of a well-intentioned customer. We did not know this was required until we came to park so this severely limited our options to multi-storey or paid parking only. " The worst company ever and will never recommend and will ensure everyone knows how criminal this company is. Avis is head and shoulders above who deal with their customers like human being. The counter representative at Geneva for Unirent was the most awkward unprofessional human being possible. And his knowledge of everything was limited. Avis staff on the other hand were helpful and deal with customer by applying empathy. "

" The worst service ever and I will not use them ever again. I lost my licence 2 days before travelling but provided a DVLA check code and DVLA proof is licence. The counter representative refused this and wouldn't release the car. I had to then rent a car from Avis who were more than happy to accept these documents. I then called the next day to refund my money as I never picked the car up and was told no refund could be applied. Day light robbery to take my money without actually ever giving me a car. This company is a crook company. "

" I specifically asked if snow chains were provided and was told they were, yet when I went to put them on they were (alomng with the spare wheel) nowhere to be found. Luckily it was a 4x4 which enabled me to complete my journey (just) but if the police had insisted that I have snow chains (which they can do) then it would have severely affected my holiday. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL "

" One rather frustrating factor was that I hired the car to go to France from Geneva...you were informed. Unfortunately the Sat Nav didn't cover France.....lots of other 'eastern europe' countries plus Germany and Italy, but not France....really did make navigating rather difficult! "
