Currently the train station consists of platforms, three above ground and two underground. In total, there are nine train tracks providing various regional, intercity and international rail links. Where to pick up my car hire at Gerona Train Station

Being not far from the historical centre of Gerona, is one of the reasons why many decide to rent a car at Gerona Train Station as opposed to the local airport. As a popular choice, customers will be able to find many of the most popular car rental suppliers around. From Hertz to dollar, Europcar and many more, booking with any of these suppliers is peace-of-mind and very competitive. Car rental desks can either be found in the railway terminal building or just outside the railway station, for example, at Calle de Barcelona.

Make sure you have your identification, driving licence – with an International Driving Licence if required – car rental voucher and a credit card. The credit card must be in the main driver’s name and contain enough funds for a deposit to be held on it. Make sure you fully inspect the car, noting anything of concern on the pick-up slip, and taking video and photographic evidence. Upon returning the car, make sure it is reinspected by a member of staff and signed off as okay. Only then will your deposit be released back onto your credit card. This may take some time to process and show on your bank statement. Some suppliers may require more than one credit card. Deposit amount is noted on our voucher’s terms and conditions.

Tickets can be purchased online, at the ticket office or at the ticket machines within the car park itself. There is ample parking, with dedicated bays for the disabled. Daily cost is around 2.40€ per hour, with no reduced charge for full day stays. The VIA-T automatic payment device is accepted at this car park. Parking is Gerona itself can be problematic within the city centre. With narrow roads and plenty of one-way streets, traffic flow can sometimes seem chaotic. On-street parking is marked by blue bays. Make sure you read the road signage for possible restrictions. Avoid residential only parking bays and those utilised for commercial unloading. There are numerous safe and secure parking garages spread out throughout the city. Many of which are also a short walk away from Gerona train station.
