Leeds Airport, also known as Leeds Bradford Airport, is located just northwest of Leeds and northeast of Bradford. The airport opened its doors in 1931 as a military airfield under the name "Leeds and Bradford Municipal Aerodrome" and served as an import hub during the Second World War. Just after the war the airport was opened to civil aviation and has since seen several updates. Currently the airport receives approximately three and a half million passengers a year which is expected to rise in the upcoming years. This is also the reason why the government has made plans to expand the airport further.
With a car hire from Leeds Airport you can explore the English country side to the fullest. Make a visit to the National Media Museum, the Royal Armouries Museum and see all this area has to offer. In Bradford you can stroll through Little Germany, a Victorian commercial district with great restaurants and souvenir shops. Leeds also has plenty to offer, and a visit to the Kirkstall Abbey, the Thackray Medical Museum and Tropical World should not be missed on your trip.
