Mallorca Airport is the third largest airport in Spain. The passenger terminal has four boarding modules: A, B, C, and D. The arrivals hall is located on the ground floor, with baggage reclaim being located on the arrivals level of the terminal.
The check-in area is on the second floor, with access to the boarding modules on the fourth floor of the airport. Module A is to the north, module B with only eight gates is to the north-east, Module C, the largest module, is situated to the east, and Module D can be found to the south of the terminal. If you require further information or assistance in finding the correct boarding module and gate, there is an information desk located after the security checkpoint.
There is a wealth of shops, cafés and restaurants at the airport to help you pass the time. Most of these are located on the fourth floor, although some cafeterias and shops can also be found on the ground floor and the second floor. There are also internet access points on all these floors. The terminal's ground floor has ATMs and a tourist information centre.
The airport is conveniently connected to Palma de Mallorca via the Levante motorway. The drive should take less than 15 minutes. Other destinations on the island can also be reached from the airport. For example, by driving along the Levante motorway, and then by turning onto and following the Ma-13 motorway, you can reach Alcudia in approximately 40 minutes.
If you have not arranged to pick up your car hire at Mallorca Airport, but in Palma de Mallorca, you can board one of the buses that depart from outside the terminal. Bus line 1 stops at the seafront promenade and many other tourist attractions within the city. The line runs approximately every 15 minutes between 6am and 1:10am during the winter season, and 6am to 1:50am in the summer. The route of bus line 21 runs between the airport and many hotels on Palma beach. Line 21 runs every 30 minutes, with wintertime services between 7am and 10:10pm. During the summertime, the line operates from 7am to 12:30am. Both bus lines have stops on the ground floor and second floor of the passenger terminal.
You should not have any trouble finding an appropriate parking spot for your car rental in Palma de Mallorca, as long as you keep a few things in mind. As in most European cities, it can be difficult to find free parking in the centre of the city, but there are multiple parking garages available. Street parking is divided into yellow zones, where parking is forbidden, and blue zones, where parking is permitted and paid by using a designated parking meter. If your parking space is a time-limited one, remember to display your time of arrival. If you would like some tips about driving in Spain, click here.
