Cheap car hire at Nottingham Airport with Auto Europe

While this quirky midlands city is forever enshrined in legend by the Robin Hood myth, it has many more strings to its bow. Culturally, Nottingham has consistently been awash with talent – its status as the home of Lord Byron, DH Lawrence and Stanley Middleton means that the city has been declared a UNESCO City of Literature. This Robin Hood spirit is survived by a penchant for the radical – iconoclastic contemporary artists such as Sleaford Mods and Iron Maiden also have their roots in the city. It’s worth mentioning that the city’s internationally renowned venues and strong, supportive local scene laid the grounds for the commercial success of Jake Bugg in recent years. As such, a night in Nottingham’s pleasant city centre is synonymous with inventive, independent food and drink, washed down with astounding entertainment by local artistic talent.

By day, the city is a delight for visitors. Multifarious attractions are dotted around the centre, meaning that you can easily reach the likes of Nottingham Castle, the National Videogame Arcade and the Robin Hood Experience all in one day by foot. Slightly further afield lies the scenic Wollaton Park, where you can bring a picnic and take a stroll among the large deer population.

Nottingham’s close proximity to the Peak District National Park, as well as Birmingham and Manchester make it a popular destination for travellers. Car hire from Nottingham Airport allows freedom to explore the surrounding countryside and also quickly reach anywhere in England by joining the nearby M1. Book now with Auto Europe and start planning your relaxing, historic trip to the British midlands! Transportation / How to get to the airport

    By Car
East Midlands Airport is situated conveniently by the M1, England’s main vehicular artery. Without traffic, the airport is a 20 minute drive from Nottingham city centre. Unfortunately frequent road works on the M1 mean that congestion can occur regularly, so please factor in additional travel time if returning your car hire to Nottingham Airport during rush hour. BP and Moto both have petrol stations on the exit to the M1, convenient for making sure your car has the required amount of fuel upon return. Blue badge holders have 30 minutes of free parking outside the airport.

    By Bus and Taxi
The airport is accessible at any hour of the day on public transport. The National Express 240 runs various routes direct to the airport from all over the country (Leeds, Sheffield, Luton and Gatwick), while the Skylink bus travels direct from Crown Court in Nottingham city centre every 30 minutes.

Over 400 taxi services operate around East Midlands Airport, so prices are competitive. Different companies will operate between the airport and each neighbouring city, like Nottingham and Loughborough.

    Parking Tips

There are a range of different parking facilities at the airport. Express parking is best suited to short stays of up to 24 hours, with rates starting at around £2. For longer durations, Economy and Executive cover a range of different parking options that vary in price and distance from the airport terminal. While you can usually secure a space on the day, it can be prudent to pre-book to ensure peace of mind.
