Porto Airport consists of one newly rebuilt and expanded terminal. It is multifunctional and handles both local and international flights. Within its main hall, a large array of airport facilities are provided, including everything you’d expect for getting you checked-in, security, departure lounges, baggage reclaim and arrivals hall. The terminal is designed to meet the needs of disabled travellers, with European high standards incorporated into its design. These include ramps, special lifts and adapted terminal phones. Information desks are available 24/7 throughout the terminal building to assist you if needed.
The airport provides plenty of facilities to make your journey as comfortable as possible. From coffee houses, restaurants and bars, to banks, currency exchange, cash machines and a baby changing area – all you’ll need is located within walking distance. Plenty of shops are available, such as, mobile phone stores, bookshops, clothes shops and a duty free store. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the terminal but is restricted to providing flight and airport related information. If you’re looking to access external websites, than you are provided with the ability to purchase internet time.
The airport is located perfectly for serving Porto city and the surrounding region. Its proximity to Porto allows for a large choice of public transport options – although many opt to rent a car at Porto Airport. The easiest and by far the fasts way to reach the city is with the metro. Porto city has five colour-coded metro lines. The purple line is the metro line that will connect you to and from Porto Airport. At the terminal you’ll also have a local bus service and a taxi rank. Taxis are by far the most expensive method of travel. Shuttle buses are available and private buses can also be booked.
Parking at Porto Airport isn’t normally a problem, with multiple options available. Car parking facilities range from Short-Stay to Long-Stay car parks and are relatively inexpensive. We would advise parking your car at one of the Metro line car parks and boarding the metro to the airport. There are a total of 32 car parks along the length of the metro line. Within Porto itself, parking can be tricky, so we also recommend the metro car parks , especially if you’re planning to visit central Porto, Ribeira or any other location’s that are popular amongst tourists. With a car hire at Porto Airport you’ll be able to see the city and the surround suburbs with minimum ease and convenience.
