    Station Information

    Built in 1868, the Turin Susa Train Station is one of two major train stations in the city. The original rail station was redeveloped and modernised into a beautiful modern steel and glass structure with underground platforms. Between 2006 and 2013 the rail lines were significantly expanded, with the train station now comprising of six underground platforms. Many trains leading to Venice, Rome, Naples and Florence, stop at this station after and before leaving Turin Nuova Train Station. The TGV service to Paris departs from Turin Susa Train Station.

    Station facilities

    As a modern recently redeveloped train station, the Turin Porta Susa Train Station has all the standard amenities and facilities for a safe, secure and pleasant trip. The ticket offices and ticketing machines are one level down on the main concourse. These ticket machines are for all journeys expect those run by SNCF, TGV services to Paris – here tickets must be purchased online. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the train station, although you must have a social media account and a mobile number for SMS verification to sign-up. Other standard services include various ATM machines and numerous bars, food outlets and coffee houses within the station. Lastly, there is no luggage storage at this station, so we recommend storing your luggage at Turin Nuova Train Station instead.

    How to get to and from Turin Porta Susa Train Station

    Reaching the train station isn’t too difficult due to its central location in Turin. In fact, its central location is one of the major reasons why many customers opt for a car hire at Turin Susa Train Station during their visit. If walking, it would only take you 22-minutes between both main line station – Turin Nuova Train Station and Turin Susa Train Station. If heading to the Piazza San Carlo, it’ll take you around 19-minutes on foot, and just over 30-minutes on foot to the Antonelliana Tower. City buses and trams run through the train station and will take you across the city. Likewise, a conveniently located metro line is located at the train station. The M1 metro line is the same metro line that services Turin Porta Nuova Train Station, and links Bengasi to Cascine Vica – a total of 23 metro stations. A taxi rank is available outside the station. Taxis are cream in colour with a taxi sign upon their roof. Official city taxis are metred.

    Parking tips

    You will find numerous car parks around the train station itself, however, the actual train station has a car park attached to it. With plenty of parking bays, including disabled parkin – the Porta Susa car park is only 2-minutes’ walk from the platforms. Accepting cash, card and Telepass as form of payment, discounts are provided to those who catch a train for more than 60 miles. This car park is not only convenient for the station, but also for those wishing to explore the surrounding area – namely central Turin. With your car rental at Turin Porta Susa Train Station, you won’t have issue parking when collecting or dropping off your vehicle. Car hire agencies have their own dedicated parking bays for when returning the car.

    There is lots of parking in the city itself, with twenty-five municipal car parks available. On-street parking is also available with blue bays indicating such a spot. A yellow bay indicates restricted or disabled parking only. On-street parking can be both free and pay-for, so make sure you refer to any signage for restrictions and time-constraints. A citywide parking pass is available, and can be purchased at participating coffee shops, newsagents and from traffic wardens. A pay via mobile option is available in certain parts of the city, known as Telepark, you must be registered online to use this service.
