    Driving Information in Finland

    Driving Licence Requirements

    In order to drive a hire car in Finland you must be at least 18 years old and have a full driving licence valid in your country of residence.

    Age Restrictions

    To hire a car and drive in Finland, you must be at least 20 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge when picking up a car rental in Tampere and other destinations.

    Road Rules and Petrol Stations

    • Driving in Finland is done on the right-hand side of the road.

    Domestic one-way car hires are unrestricted and free of charge. There are fees for international one-way rentals, and not all vehicles are allowed.
