    Terminals

    Birmingham airport has two terminals. Terminal 1 and terminal 2 interconnect via the Millennium link building allowing for easier transfers between the 2. Terminal 1 has been opened since 1984 to ease congestion in the original Elmdon terminal, terminal 1 has since been expanded several times to accommodate in passengers as well as flights. Terminal 2 was opened in 1991 with several airlines switching from terminal 1 to terminal 2.

There is also Lost Property, Meeting Rooms, Currency Exchange, Aircraft Viewing Area and a Multi Faith Prayer Room. There is also a Sky Zone which is a free interactive play area for children of all ages to keep them entertained pre-flight, it also has an augmented reality experience. The airport has 5 separate lounges, The Aspire Lounge, Aspire Lounge South, Clubrooms, Emirates Lounge and No1 Lounge where you can enjoy free Wi-Fi, charging facilities, games consoles and a wide range of fresh hot and cold foods along with complimentary wines, beers and spirits as well as soft drinks coffee and tea.     How to get to and from Birmingham airport

    Travelling by rent a car to Birmingham airport is the most convenient way to travel as Birmingham airport is at the centre of the UK’s motorway network which makes it one of the most accessible airports along with being well served by road networks. However should you choose to use public transport there are several options available. The airport has an official private hire company through Arrow Cars as well as licenced black taxis serving the airport at the terminal front 24 hours a day all year round. The airport is directly connected to Birmingham international Station via monorail with a journey time of around 1 and half minutes. The train station has links to over 100 towns and cities. There are several bus services which run from the airport and the train station. Tickets can be purchased once on the bus on the X1 to the city centre at stops K and J. the X12 at stops K and L and the 75/75A from stops NB and SB. There is also a coach service which runs to 35 main towns and cities on over 120 daily services.

    Parking tips

    There are several options for parking your car hire at Birmingham airport, valet parking is a 1 minute walk from the terminal. Car Park 1 2 and 3 are also a 1 minute walk from the terminal all with multi story parking as well as CCTV and regular security patrols. Car park 4 and 5 are on site surface car parks with CCTV and regular patrols and a free shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes. Car park 4 is a 3-5 minute walk and car park 5 is a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal. Car park 7 is an off-site surface car park with regular security patrols and CCTV which also has free shuttle bus which takes 5-10 minutes to get to the terminal. Premium set down parking is designed for dropping off passengers, it is a 1 minute walk from the terminal and has CCTV and regular security as well as electric charging ports. Drop off has free stays for up to 30 minutes when dropping off passengers and also has regular CCTV. It is around a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal. Parking can also be found in around the city with street parking found in Controlled Parking Zones. Be aware that in these areas restrictions and charges apply although if you display a blue badge parking is free and has no time limits. There are many car parks in the area including multi storeys such as Town Hall, Snow Hill and Paradise Circus. These are some of the easiest places to find parking as well as the Bullring Car Parks and Grand Central. Bullring Moor Street car park is the largest car park with the most disabled and family spaces available. There are also several NCP car parks however these can be some of the most expensive parking spaces in the city.
