    Station information

    Bordeaux-Saint-Jean also known as Bordeaux-Midi was opened in 1898 and is the main railway which serves the city. The station is split into three parts with the middle section separating the departures and arrivals, with transport links to Paris, Sète, Toulouse Matabiau and Spain. Since the TGV was introduced to the station it has since been renovated and upgraded with modern equipment while still keeping its original features. The station is located around 3 hour’s journey time from Paris and also has routes to Marseille.

    How to get to and from Bordeaux Saint Jean Train Station

    There are many transport options when travelling around Bordeaux however the easiest option would be a car rental at Bordeaux Saint Jean Train Station to make your journeys simpler without the hassle of public transport. However should you wish to use the public transport system there are many services available. The station has a tram service from the station which runs along line C. There is also a shuttle bus which runs between the station and the airport every 45 minutes between the hours of 7:45am and 10:45pm. There are also a number of bus services which run to and from the station from lines 1 which is to Merignac Airport , 9 which runs to Brandenburg, 10 which runs between Bouliac Shopping Centre and Gradignan Beausoleil and 11 which runs from Merignac to Begles Rives d’Arcins. All buses stop near Parvis Hall 2 on arrival to the station. You can also find access to taxi’s at the 1 minute stop or the 2 minute stop. You can also rent a bicycle or motorcycle as well as a motorcycle with a chauffer.

    Parking tips

    There are 3 car parks available for your car hire at Bordeaux Saint Jean Train Station. Parking P2 St Jean, Parking P3 Belcier and Parking P4 Belcier. All of which are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. They are all paying car parks however P2 and P3 are free for the first 10 minutes of parking. P3 and P4 can be accessed via hall 3 of the station however P2 is accessed via the roundabout leading into the station. There are other parking spots located around the city, primarily the city centre. City centre parking is charged with a maximum stay of 2 hours with free parking to be found at the car park of the Merladeck shopping centre. Some tram stations offer park and ride services.
