Car Hire at Grenoble Train Station - Gateway to the Alps

Located in the heart of the city centre, not far from the Old Town (Vieille Ville) and many of the city's most popular tourist attractions, Grenoble Train Station is a major public transport hub with direct links to many key destinations in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France and beyond. Serving as an essential facility for Grenoble’s growing population, as well as the many visitors exploring the area during the holiday season, it is connected to the high-speed TGV network with frequent services running to and from Paris, in addition to regular regional TER trains operating throughout the day.

One of the station's main advantages is its close proximity to downtown Grenoble, which means that tourists can store their luggage and visit the city's many museums, galleries and shopping areas. An absolute must is a couple of hours inside the nearby Cathédrale Notre-Dame which was founded in the 13th century and is worth seeing for its high-vaulted Gothic interior. Other top sights include the Fort de la Bastille (offering the best city views) and the excellent Centre National d'Art Contemporain, which boasts one of the most impressive contemporary art collections in the whole of France.

With a car hire from Grenoble Train Station you'll have quick and easy access to many wonderful features of the local countryside, most notably Chartreuse Regional Nature Park (Parc Naturel Régional de Chartreuse) which comprises almost 80,000 hectares of mountainscapes harbouring dozens of quaint little villages accessible by narrow country roads. Another spectacular road-trip option is Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors, another vast stretch of verdant alpine terrain a few kilometres from Grenoble that's known for its dramatic scenery at every turn.
