Car Hire at Montpellier Sud de France Train Station - Gateway to the Côte d'Azur

Gare Montpellier Sud de France is a modern TGV railway station conveniently located on the main thoroughfare connecting the popular cities of Nîmes and Montpellier in the south of France. Built to an innovative 'elevated station-bridge' design, it is situated close to the ZAC development zone and shopping precinct known as Odysseum a few kilometers from both Montpellier Airport and the city centre.

Notable for its stylish glass and pleated concrete, Montpellier Sud de France Train Station was designed by French architect Marc Mimram and constructed by the François Fondeville Group. Its inauguration in the middle of 2018 immediately reduced the duration of the journey between Montpellier and Paris Gare de Lyon to just three hours, whilst at the same time linking the city directly with Barcelona and Madrid in neighbouring Spain.

Located a short drive from the coast, Montpellier is the third-largest city on France's long Mediterranean shoreline after Marseille and Nice. Scenically laid out on two hills in close proximity to the famed French Riviera, this once sleepy port city is today a vibrant place with dozens of first-rate attractions and a lively year-round entertainment programme which includes the world-renowned contemporary dance festival every summer.

One of the best ways to combine a visit to the city with a tour of the surrounding areas (including some of Europe's most famous vineyards) is with a car hire from Montpellier Sud de France Train Station. Having your own vehicle will also give you quick access to some of the Côte d'Azur's best beaches, as well as the fascinating cities of Perpignan, Toulouse and even Monaco.
