    Terminals

The airport consists of two main terminals, and another older defunct terminal. Both terminals are adjacent to one another, and can be reached easily on foot from the surrounding car parks. A shuttle bus is also provided for those wishing to reach the terminals quicker. The two terminals are connected to each via a central section, known as ‘Le Centre’. Here you’ll find many of the airports amenities and facilities. In both terminals, arrivals are located on the ground floor, and departures on the first floor. The airport is modern, clean and well maintained.

    Airport Facilities

At the airport you will find all the necessary facilities required for a safe and stress-free journey. On the ground floor of both terminals you’ll have an arrivals hall, baggage reclaim belts, passport control and lost luggage office. On the upper floor, of both terminals you’ll find a departure lounge, passport control, check-in desks and departure gates. You’ll also find plenty of eateries, restaurants and coffee houses scattered throughout the terminal – but these are mostly located in the central connection ‘Le Centre’. At the ‘Le Centre’ you’ll also have access to ATM’s, currency exchange and a variety of shops, selling everything from books to fashion and souvenirs. Internet access is available via Wi-Fi.

How to get to and from Lyon Airport

The airport is located 13 miles southeast of Lyon city centre. This makes getting to and from the airport easy and convenient when you rent a car at Lyon Airport. To reach Lyon, simply drive along the A48, A43 and then the N346 towards Lyon. Alternative, destinations include Grenoble and Geneva in Switzerland, or Turin in Italy – all drivable from the airport. For more information on driving in France, consult our France driving information page. A tram link is available from and to the airport. Called Rhônexpress, it departs every 5 minutes from Lyon Saint Exupery Train Station. The TGV rail station provides great links throughout the region and into the Alps, including links to Paris and Marseille. Coaches are available for connections to nearby towns, and a handy shuttle service is on-hand to take travellers to ski resorts.

    Parking Tips

There are 10 car parks located at the airport – named P0-P5 and Eco. This makes parking your car rental at Lyon Airport extremely easy. Car parks P2, P4 and P5 are split into two different types. P0 is located under both terminals, P1 is a covered car park located at the entrance of terminal 1, P2 is an open-air car park located opposite terminal 2. The P2 car park is split into online booking only customers and standard daily customers. P3 car park is currently closed for renovation. P4 car park is split into electric vehicles only, and standard car park – both are located opposite the TGV rail station. P5 car park is again split into two types, an automated open-air car park and a standard open-air car park. Both are located remotely but have a shuttle bus service to the terminals. Lastly, there is an Eco car park located a few minutes’ walk from the terminals.

Parking your car at Lyon can be difficult within central locations. Car parks are available throughout the city, and some on-street parking too. Spaces are limited and many areas have a Pay-&-Display rule in place. Fines are hefty, especially if parked in front of a fire-hydrant or an exit. When available we always recommend parking in a car park, it is both secure and often conveniently located to attractions. Any fines will be forwarded onto you to pay, in addition to a handling administration fee.
