    Station Information

    Lyon Saint Exupery Train Station started operating in 1994 with the purpose of catering for high-speed TGV trains. It is connected to Lyon Airport by a footbridge equipped with a travelator; in fact the airport is historically the first in the world to be served by such a rail facility. The architect was the Spanish designer Santiago Calatrava and today his innovatively designed building is considered a masterpiece of modern art. located 25 kilometres from the centre of Lyon, it serves trains travelling between Paris and Marseille. It comprises five trench tracks, with the two central tracks being isolated in what is known as Tube 300 for trains travelling at full speed (around 300kph). A city landmark, the dramatic shape of Lyon Saint Exupery Train Station resembles a bird at the point of flight and is envisioned as a symbolic gateway to the region of Lyon.

The best route is to take the A48, A43 and then the N346, or vice versa. Alternative destinations such as Grenoble and Geneva in Switzerland or Turin in Italy are all easily reached from the station.
