An official train station car park is available and is run by EFFIA. The car park is open 24-hours per day, 7 days a week. If parking here, it will take you a quick 2-minutes to reach the station platforms on foot. Parking for the full 24-hours is around 17€, which can be paid by cash and bank card. There is little to no free parking around the actual train station, however, on the other side of the canal free parking is easier to come by. The car hire supplier will have their own parking, therefore, parking your car rental at Carcassonne Train Station shouldn’t be an issue.

Parking in the city itself isn’t too problematic, with many parking opportunities located near tourist attractions and points-of-interest. There are two underground car parks in the historical part of the city – Bastide St. Louis – together providing around 1,000 car park bays. Another city car park can be found at Chemin de Montlegun – perfectly near the city;s medieval quarters. Free on-street parking is limited in the centre, although easier to find near the canal. Paid on-street parking is available, but we recommend confirming the restrictions before leaving the car. Many places are dedicated to residents only or for deliveries. Any fines incurred will be forwarded to you with an additional administration fee by the car rental supplier.
