Car hire in Funchal with best rates guaranteed

Car hire in Funchal will give you the opportunity to see the whole of Madeira. Funchal, the capital named after the plethora of fennel (funcho) which grew wild there, rises up from the deep blue sea. A beautiful location! Its surroundings resemble a natural amphitheatre with dramatic mountains sweeping down into the blue of the Atlantic sea. Funchal is said to be breathtaking both during the day when the sun and colours blend together, and at night when the houses and buildings are lit up and look amazing. Enjoy the old port as you wander through, browsing the shops and tasting the local dishes or enjoy an aperitif of local Madeira wine whilst you people-watch. Whilst in the old centre walk down to the cathedral, then continue onto the waterfront. Alternatively take the cable car for a panoramic ride to Monte in the mountains. The panorama from here is amazing; as you pass over the rooftops you can see all of Funchal. You should visit Monte Palace and Tropical Gardens at the top. Visit our Funchal car hire reviews page to read the impartial opinions written by other Auto Europe customers following their recent car rental experience in the city.
