Though the thought of driving a car hire in Rhodes may seem daunting at first, since you are driving on a small island with a slightly mountainous terrain, it is a relief to know that most of the roads in the island are paved with asphalt. It is, however, useful to remember that, farther inland and in the south, the condition of roads may not be as good. You should also be aware that there may be traffic jams during the summer high season.
Parking is hard to find in the historic Old Town in Rhodes city, but spaces are available for you to leave your car hire while you explore parts of the city on foot. You can find paid parking close to the Old Town around the main port, for example. Remember to take note of the different parking zones: a yellow line signals that parking is prohibited, a blue line means paid parking using a ticket machine, and a white line signifies that parking is free.
There are a few main roads connecting the major cities. For travel between Rhodes city and Diagoras Airport (about 20 minutes) or Kamiros, you should take Dimosia Rodou and Leof. Iraklidon. The EO95 connects Rhodes city and Lindos in about 45 minutes, and also takes you to Faliraki in about 20 minutes.

It is situated in the Aegean Ocean, between the island of Crete and Asia Minor, which is only about 6 miles away. The terrain consists mostly of hills and low mountains covered in forests, as well as a vast number of beaches. The capital city, also called Rhodes, is located at the northern end of the island.
