    Renting a car during the coronavirus crisis

    Like other companies in the global tourism sector, Auto Europe is being seriously affected by the coronavirus pandemic. We’re facing this challenge with positivity and with the hope that everything will soon return to normal. With this in mind, we have closed both our Munich and Lisbon offices and implemented home office for our entire work force. This will allow our operations to run as smoothly as possible, while still ensuring the safety of our employees.

    At Auto Europe we are aware that the quality of the service we offer not only depends on our great prices, but also on the added value our staff provides. Due to this, and despite the harsh economic climate that we are experiencing, we have decided to maintain all our staff but temporarily reducing workdays with flexible schedules.

    How does this affect you as a customer?

    Our reservation agents are, as always, available every day from Monday to Sunday to help you place a reservation, or help you cancel or modify an existing booking. If your rental has already ended and you need to make a claim, or have any queries, then our customer service department is also available.     Holiday plans on hold? - Is there a fee for cancelling or changing a reservation?

    Despite these uncertain times, we are positive that these moments of insecurity will pass. We will emerge stronger and with a greater appreciation of the freedom that a holiday can bring, and valuing life even more. So with our current free time, let’s start planning our next dream holiday. Booking through Auto Europe isn’t only a guarantee of amazing rates, but also great flexibility and as per the reservation Terms and Conditions, no cancellation fee is charged up until 48 hours prior to the intended pick-up date. Existing reservations can be modified free of charge but please note that the changes made are subject to the new rate and the availability within the same timeline.

    Changes to a booking, as well the cancellation of an existing booking can, as mentioned earlier, always be done by calling our reservations department, or you as a client have the added benefit of being able to do these modifications yourself directly on our website in a few easy clicks. Manage your booking easily on the Auto Europe hompageSimply press on Manage My Booking in the top, right hand corner when visiting the website. All you need is the name of the person the reservation was made in and your voucher number.

    Will travelling become more expensive after the crisis has settled?

    A general rise in prices is expected in the tourism sector once travel restrictions are no longer enforced and global borders reopen. If you’re looking to save as much as possible on your next holiday, then now is the perfect time to book.

    You can also save by signing up to our membership promotions where all members are entitled to a discount of up 5% on any booking across the globe made through Auto Europe. On top of this you will also be able to take advantage of exclusive promotions, valid for members only!

    For clients with existing car hire reservations we suggest that you hold onto your booking with us a little longer, as the rate and vehicle are both confirmed, and we are confident that travel restrictions will improve in the foreseeable future.

    In need of a car hire during the Corona outbreak? - Health and safety of our customers is paramount

    As we’re all aware, it’s not the best time to travel by public transport, so if, despite the current state of alarm, you still need to travel to work or for any other reason, but don’t have a car, then rest assured that all our car hire suppliers are employing a policy of strict hygiene on all their fleets.
